6.9b25 cache runs out of space when copying to a user share?

Featured Replies

Share 'use cache pool' setting: YES - expectation is "If there is insufficient space on the Cache disk/pool, then new files and directories are created on the array. When the mover is invoked, files and subdirectories are transferred off the Cache disk/pool and onto the array."  - from the UI help tips.

Cache is 2x256GB Samsung EVO 860s in Raid0.

Some other posts recommended setting a minimum free space in Settings -> Global Share Settings but that settings seems to be missing from 6.9.x.

If it was removed in lieu of the 'minimum free space' setting you can set per cache pool, I can't get that setting to stick.  Stop array, update the value to something 2GB, and it returns back to 0 when I click apply (see animation below).

First timer with unraid.  Understand that we should probably turn off cache for initial bulk data moves, but shouldn't this skip the cache and copy to the array if the cache is full?

Still a good idea even if this was working correctly.

thx for linking that thread @trurl - good to know it's not just me

Mover is running as we speak and I'll disable cache during bulk file operations until the next release.
