Hey all, just set up my Unraid server following the wiki. When I transfer to an smb share from Mac the transfer rate starts up at 100+MB/s then slowly drops down to zero and stays there for a bit before jumping up again and the cycle repeats. This results is a very slow overall speed around 10MB/s. Any thoughts?

There are some known issues with Macs and slow SMB performance, you can goolge that for some ideas, you can also try turbo write if you haven't yet.

I found a few things re Mac and smb but none made any difference. I enabled turbo write and it made a huge improvement but still does the up and down behaviour. It’s actually usable now though. If the rest of my testing works out I’ll add an ssd cache drive. Hopefully that will make things even better.
