speeding_ant Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 Hi all, My unRAID monitor app 'Margarita' now has the ability to automount / mount shares via AFP or SMB. This removes the requirement for scripts or automounts, it works out of the box via the app. It's currently under review, and should be released within the next day. Cheers!
wgstarks Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Been using this script for a while. Now I wondering how to disable it once the Margarita update is released now that the Margarita update is out. I'm guessing I need to at least delete mount.sh and com.media.mount.plist. And probably reboot. Is this all or did I miss something?

That's 99% of the reason I run it. Also, I think something in OS X Sierra GM broke something. It only mounts my first share listed. I will see how it performs with official release. Been using this script flawlessly since you uploaded it, great work. And, as I've told you before Great work on all the Margarita forks.

Correct me if I am wrong but I guess I could leave the mounting up to Margarita and still use the iTunes portion of the script?
speeding_ant Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 Any chance the iTunes functions from the script will show up here? That's 99% of the reason I run it. Unlikely - but at the same time this could be resolved using a script that detects if a mount is there. Also, I think something in OS X Sierra GM broke something. It only mounts my first share listed. I will see how it performs with official release. OS X Sierra stops you from being able to mount anything in /Volumes unless you elevate privileges as root. If you are root and you mount a volume, it does not show up on your user Desktop.
interconnect Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Any plans to update this script for MacOS Sierra? I've used this script for a while and has worked great until I installed Sierra. I see that you added the functionality to your Margarita app... I don't have an unraid server so it's not much use to me other than the script mounting part. Does the Margarita app keep the share mounted/automatically remount if disconnected like the script does? Can you use Margarita even if you don't have an unraid server? Have you thought about breaking it out into a separate app?

speeding_ant Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 Sure - it works with any available share.
interconnect Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 How does this work for you? https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/automounter/id1160435653?mt=12 Awesome! Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. Youch, a bit expensive... $5 would be a bit more reasonable.
speeding_ant Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 It's not an easy thing to do, and it does it well. New version coming, will be more polished and add additional features. Cheers!
kamhighway Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 @speeding_ant Just bought Margarita. Been using your automounting scripts for years. Glad to send some money your way. Nice job on Margarita.

speeding_ant Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 Version 1.2 out shortly, which has the following enhancements and bug fixes: - Added ability to only mount shares from a server if your connected WiFi Name (SSID) matches what you configure - Optionally send Wake On LAN magic packet to a server when your network changes - Enhanced device finder - UI enhancements - Bug fixes
wgstarks Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 This is purely cosmetic, but I notice the right edge of the server selection window is lost. Covered by the scroll bar. I tried to drag a corner to resize the window but I'm guessing that's not supported.
kamhighway Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 @speeding_ant, RE: Margarita When editing preferences, the "Done" button is invisible until you hover over it. If the button starts out invisible, how does the user know where to hover in order to see it? First image shows the Preferences dialog. Second image shows Preferences dialog when cursor is over the location of the "Done" button.
starcat Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Just bought Margarita and it can not connect to an unraid 6 server on the other side of a site 2 site VPN. Server is available via command line and everything else is working, no blocked ports internally or whatsover. It says "Error with connection". Any hints what to check? Thanks.
roma Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Just bought Margarita. Not possible to connect to server. I can connect manually through Finder. "Error with connection". No matter what I try or what address I enter. It will not connect.
speeding_ant Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Hi there - try changing the share type between AFP or SMB. Cheers.

Just looking for a way to reduce the log size?
speeding_ant Posted January 15, 2017 Author Posted January 15, 2017 Yes, this is AutoMounter initiating a connection on that port and then disconnecting straight away. This is to determine if the service is available. Connection initiation logging shouldn't really be enabled by default, I'd make a recommendation to Limetech to disable it.
wgstarks Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Thanks for the confirmation. My log is at 51% after 3 days, so I need to figure out something. Had to quit AutoMounter temporarily so I don't run out of memory.

Perhaps unRAID should implement log rolling with compression too perhaps... what would happen if a drive spat a ton of IO errors? unRAID would run out of memory?

Just FYI, if this is a problem that is preventing the use of AutoMounter, you can remove the ftp logging entries by using SED: sed -i "/\b\(vsftpd\)\b/d" /var/log/syslog Worst case you can cron that command every few hours until another solution presents itself. I can't see a configuration option in vsftp to limit that logging..
