SSD Posted January 18, 2011 Share Posted January 18, 2011 Remember to take into account the cost of the port. 1/8 of a SASLP is $16 or so 1/5 or a 5x3 is $20 So the total cost of installing a $70 2T drive is $70 + 16 + 20 = $106 = $53/TB And the total cost of installing 2 $44 1T drives is $88 + 32 + 40 = $160 = $80/TB No brainer - go for the 2T drives!
