stop the server going to sleep....

Featured Replies

Hi

every night the server goes to sleep but it just wont wake up requiring me to cycle the power. im not interested in saving power and would rather the server just stays powered on. is there a plugin or something to stop this happening??

Thank you in advance

What you are describing isn't normal at all, stock Unraid does not support sleep, or initiate it. Lacking information, my wild guess is that you have one of the AMD chips that require modifications in the BIOS to keep from crashing when it's not kept busy.

Attach the diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread if you want a more educated opinion on what may be happening.

Have you run a memtest from the boot menu?  It would also be helpful for you to enable the syslog server (mirror to flash) and after the next crash (your system is crashing, not sleeping) to reply back with the syslog file stored within /logs on the flash drive

here are my sys logs. thank you so muchtower-syslog-20231119-2333.zip

Your syslog covered about 40 seconds of events.   Remember to upload the file again after the NEXT time that your server crashes!

Good news, I reset the Bios and what do you know? My PC stayed on all night. yippie.. IF it does shut down I will submit syslog. Thank so much..
