I been looking into getting one of these X-Cases (https://www.xcase.co.uk/products/x-case-rm424-pro-24-bay-hotswap-storage-server-case) or (https://www.xcase.co.uk/collections/4u-rackmount-cases/products/x-case-rm424-pro-ex-v2-24-bay-hotswap-storage-server-case-12gb-expander-backplane) one of them have an expander and one does not i was wondering which one to get? another question i had was how do i connect all the bays to a HBA card and which HBA card would be good in such a build?

    You should got expander one and connect through Lsi 9300 or Adaptec 1000 HBA. ( both are 12gb )

    You're saying the LSI 9300 or the Adaptec 1000 HBA in total i would need 2 of either one right?

    Yes, with an expander backplane you just need one HBA to access all drives.
