i am trying to create the usb boot drive via the unraid usb creator but it doesnt detect the usb drive. it is a 16 BG stick and i have formated it to NTFS.

Could anyone tell me why it is not detecting the usb drive please ?

Many thanks

Despite my initial assumption, I just tried with a key formated in NTFS it is seen by the creator.

Does your key have a GUID ?

Is your key detected by the BIOS ?

what is the capability of you MB to boot in:

  • legacy mode
  • UEFI mode

You need to make sure the capabilities of the MB and the BIOS setup is adapted to the content of the key.

By default, the USB creator does not create a key compatible with UEFI.

Either change a setting on the MB or rename the EFI directory on the key.

standard = "EFI-"

If you have to boot in UFI, just rename the folder to = "EFI"

yes the usb key is detected in the bios.

The folder is already EFI- :

Try to rename it to EFI and see if it can boot then.
