September 21, 20205 yr Hi everyone! I'll try to be as detailed as possible, for ease of communication. Hopefully someone with better knowledge than myself can assist with my issue. Unraid 6.8.3 Ubuntu 20.04 LTS in a VM with MSI 1660ti GPU passthrough. User "vmuser" in Unraid created with password, and a share folder on an nvme unassigned drive "vmdisk", vmuser being the only user with full access. (This is to isolate the VM from the main contents of the server itself, just as a precaution). Ubuntu VM user and password is the same as vmuser on Unraid. vmdisk folder mounted in Ubuntu (/mnt/nvme) via CIFS as vmuser and full read/write permissions. Can read and write to the disk with zero problems. Mounted on start up, and never have to input a username or password. Installed steam via Terminal using "sudo apt install steam-installer" and then ran the app for the install. Everything works fine. The only issue I am having is that I can't seem to add a location to the Steam Library folder using the /mnt/nvme directory. When adding, the error I get is "Failed to add new Steam library folder". Nothing else. I don't believe it to be a permissions error, but I'm not sure. I want to keep the VM img small, in case there are any need of replacing the img via backups, and have any large apps/files/games etc outside on the unassigned drive so they're accessible via other VMs etc easier. I hope all the above makes sense. If there's any other information needed, please do ask. Thanking you in advance.
