New to unRaid, convert from WHS

Featured Replies

Good evening!  I have unRaid Pro setup, ran preclear_drives.sh on my drives, have the array ready (without parity until I copy over all my WHS files), and my question is this.

On WHS I have the following directories:

BluRay

--> Individual Movie Folders

DVD

--> Individual Movie Folders

Games

--> NES

----> Individual Game Files

--> SNES

----> Individual Game Files

Music

-->iTunes

----->Music Library

--------->Artists

-------------->Albums

RecordedTV (no directories, just files)

Software

---Various Directories

Videos

--TV

---->Individual Show Folders

--Movies

---->Individual Movie Folders

--Workout

---->Individual Workout Folders

I know WHS is putting those folders that I have duplication turned on, on multiple disks.  It's also spreading the files out over multiple drives, of which I have no control over, nor do I care.  They're all the same size, make, model, etc.

In other words, the BluRay share can have files on all four of my drives, but with unRaid, I want to make sure that BluRay --> Movie Name --> Movie Files, all the movie files are on one drive so there is no stuttering.  But beyond that, I don't care.

Should I create the shares and set my split level to 1?  Would that accomplish what I want, letting unRaid worry about where to put the files, just group whole movie files together?

Thanks in advance for your help!
