Recently Moved my Unraid setup into a Chenbro RM41824 24 Bay 4u Rackmount Case. However the fan noise is unbearable! I know that enterprise grade hardware is designed with cooling in mind rather than trying to be whisper quiet. but it sounds like Heathrow airport in my lounge and my girlfriend is looking at me!

 

I upgraded the CPU coolers to a Supermicro SMH SNK-P0050AP4 in the hope to remove the case fans, however as expected the HDD temperature is creeping up. and I've had to put them back in (CPU temps are sat at 31)

 

Does anybody know of a reliable 80mm Fan that is double thickness? (as shown below)

Common quiet 8cm fan are 2.5cm thick. In fact you can install as usual.

these fans are actually 80x80x38. I considered putting standard 80mm fans in however the retaining catch would be blocked by the frame on the fan. I could cut the corner off but I would like to purchase the correct size if available at a low db.
