sage2050
I have an old drive (some bad sectors, but not increasing) I'm using to play around with unRAID, but I'm unable to format it with xfs. every time I try it turns up "Unmountable: No File System". If I set it to btrfs it formats just fine. Any ideas? Here's the log when I try to format: Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x8000 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: irq_stat 0x40000008 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: cmd 60/08:78:e0:60:a1/00:00:12:00:00/40 tag 15 ncq dma 4096 in Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: error: { UNC } Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4.00: configured for UDMA/133 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdd] tag#15 UNKNOWN(0x2003) Result: hostbyte=0x00 driverbyte=0x08 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdd] tag#15 Sense Key : 0x3 [current] Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdd] tag#15 ASC=0x11 ASCQ=0x4 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: sd 4:0:0:0: [sdd] tag#15 CDB: opcode=0x28 28 00 12 a1 60 e0 00 00 08 00 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: print_req_error: I/O error, dev sdd, sector 312565984 Oct 1 21:13:43 Servbot kernel: ata4: EH complete Oct 1 21:13:46 Servbot root: /usr/sbin/wsdd servbot-diagnostics-20201001-2122.zip Edited October 2, 2020 by sage2050 Quote Link to comment
