Is this safe to do at all?  My server accidentally got unplugged earlier today and I got another drive in the mail to add to it so do I really need to wait till the parity check is done before I add this drive?  This will be a second parity drive BTW????

    You could stop the current parity check and add the second parity disk.  When you restart, a new parity sync will start  and both parities will be rebuilt.
