Hello All 

 

I have a disk shelf that I plan to add to my UNRAID server. But b4 I do I wanted to ask. 
 

at them moment from what I know when I add the unit it will allow me to expand my current array. Which are my hdd local to the server. 
 

what I wanted to know is there a way to setup I guess a new array?

 

what I don’t want to happen is if I have any issues with the raid card if connecting cable for it to take everything offline.

    You can use cache pool ( or multiple cache pool feature if cache pool already live ) to form a RAID0 pool to make test on external shelf, never use live disk for test purpose.
