in 2010 I bough 6 2TB drives from different vendors.

 

The WD greens lasted 2 years before they died in odd and strange ways

the seagates lasted 4 years before CRC errors in SMART started showing up

the samsung lasted 9 years before SMART reports of uncorrectable sector count and CRC error count started to creep up

 

the "Hitachi Deskstar 5K3000" still has a SMART report clean as a whistle.  I'm finally pulling it today due to its age and needing more capacity.

Its amazing this drive has been spinning for over ten years with no issues.
