siamsquare
Hi guys, I need a PCI-e 10gbe card for my Supermicro X9SCM LGA 1155 motherboard. There are already 3 LSI M1015 cards installed for my HDDs in my Norco 4224. Which 19gbe NIC is compatible or do I need to change the whole mobo? Thanks Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
There are several compatible NICs, do you want SFP+ or RJ45? Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
For cheaper RJ45 options look for an Aquantia based NIC, e.g. Asus XG-C100C, or an used Intel one. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
Probably, but you'd need to find out the chip used. Mellanox Connectx-X 2 and 3 are cheap on Ebay and work great. Quote Link to comment
Toskache
I have a "SoNNeT G10E-1X-E3" (Chipset: Aquantia AQC-107S) and it's running fine. I got it for ~110 EUR (amazon) Quote Link to comment
siamsquare
I have 1 PCIe slot left on my Supermicro X9SCM-F but will it be fast enough? These are the specs: 2x (x8) PCI-E 3.0*** slots, 2x (x4) PCI-E 2.0 in x8 slots Edited October 26, 2020 by siamsquare Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
x4 PCIe 2.0 slot is still good for 2000MB/s (around 1600MB/s usable), so yes, it's enough, though note that the bottom one is shared with the DMI and anything using it, like the onboard SATA ports, if they are being used. Well I have 2 SSDs on them as cache Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can move the HBA on the 3rd slot to the bottom slot and use that one for the NIC. Quote Link to comment

siamsquare
So I bought a Mellanox ConnectX3, placed it in the server and everything works fine. Bought a 10Gtek SFP+DAC and attached it to my new Netgear Switch. I get link up 10GBE on the switch but how do I switch in Unraid from etho 0-1 to etho 3 or 4?I want Unraid to use the new 10gbe instead of 2x 1gbit... Thanks! Quote Link to comment
