I know many people do not suggest to use USB3.0 to SATA adapters, but I tested the following without problems:

 

Working out of the Box

I don't know if any working multi-bay solution exists.

 

But multi-bay is not recommended at all as sharing one serial port (USB is serial) is bad for parallel access (like parity writes or parity check). It would be the same than connecting 5 HDDs to one SATA port (but with additional USB overhead). I guess a parity check would run with <30 MB/s.

I have one with JMS578 on a board. Works perfect. But i can not see SMART.

i found something about JMS578 - it is needed to use smartctl with -d sat parameter. But how to insert this in Unraid webUI ?
