8TB Ironwolf HDD error - Device is disabeled, contense emulated

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I recently moved into a new house and wanted to test the ambient temp of my new server location in the new house.

The spot where i put the unriad server is very small and non ventilated so i placed a bluetooth thermometer inside to monitor temps.

After a few hours furmark on my gaming vm the ambient temp hit 39 celcius so i aborted and decided to place ventialtion there.

The next day i saw the one of the 6 8TB disks was disabeled and that my array was no longer protected.

What should i do now, i restarted several times but the disk doesn't come online again.

Fic Common Problems state that i should start investigate in Unraid/Main and there is stated Device is disabeled, contense emulated.

I disabeled the array and started a smart test 2 hours ago but it hangs on 10%.

My disks arnt that old (1-3 yesrs) so i dont know if it failed though high temp during test or just wear and tear.

Whats the best couse of action i can take right now?

Cheers !

Marty

Diags are after rebooting so we can't see what happened, but disk looks healthy and the emulated disk is mounting, if contents look correct you can rebuild on top:

Also a good idea to replace/swap cables to rule those out and if it happens again grab diags before rebooting.
