Identify Parity after New Configuration

Featured Replies

I forgot to make note of my disks and slot position after I created a new configuration, to remove a bad drive. Now I am not certain which was the parity drive. How can I identify which drive was parity so I can put it in the parity position and the other data drives in the proper slot?

I would wait for a confirmation from someone with more knowledge than I have.

But I think the solution is to put all drives as data and the drive with no file system is your parity drive.

I would only work with single parity.

I am in a single parity situation.

I bit the bullet and gave it a shot.....it worked. The parity drive came up as unmountable. It is rebuilding the parity as I type, but is nerve-racking when it tells you the drive is going to get wiped and I was not certain it was parity. Looking at the consumed capacity in the UI, I am very confident I am not losing any data. Thank you.

NOte to self, 'make note of the current drive assignment before creating a new config!'

Glad it worked.

I have a screen shot of the main page with all the drive visible stored on my Onedrive. That way it is always available.

But you can also just put a sticker on the physical drives, etc.
