November 4, 20205 yr Hello all, Hope everyone is doing alright today. I dug out a ga-7pesh2 motherboard that was gifted to me from a friend to build a combination NAS/gaming workstation based heavily on the maybe well known NSFW anniversary build. I installed unraid with and everything worked fine in general, but I'm getting some "machine check events", and eventually an error will say that /var/log/ is filled up, and that I need to post my diagnostics here. those have been included. I'm having some issues getting GPU pass-through to work with the windows VMs. The graphics card i'm using is an r9 290. I am booting unraid in legacy mode. video oprom in bios is set to legacy only. If I boot the virtual machine using OVMF with either emulated motherboard, I simply get no signal and a black screen output. If I boot VMs using seabios and either i1440 or Q35, the video output from the card is really weird. I have posted photos below. the screen shows consecutive lines (sometimes windows install window will show.) I have passed in a mouse and keyboard. Before I move the mouse, the screen looks like the zoomed out mostly black picture, but with white lines on the screen. when I move the mouse, patterns show that there are 8 cursors and they create a trail of jjumbled video output behind them it appears that mouse input is changing something. If i click and hold, it appears that the mouse is highlighting text on a webpage - based on the colors and occasionally semi readable text, I can see that I am somehow moving the mouse around inside the unraid gui. This is wierd because I should be in a windows VM, but instead im in this screwed up unraid gui. Enabling or disabling ACS override did not seem to make a difference here. The VMs boot up perfectly fine with VNC as graphics, but even if i try passthrough after wards it does not work. I have attached my diagnostics file below. Please let me know how I can fix this error! It has been a few days and I've tried so many things! any help is much appreciated. I have attached the diagnostics which I hope includes the mcelog output. I hope I did not break any of the posting rules and that this is being posted in the correct place!
