Drive with read errors. Time to replace?

Featured Replies

Diagnostics attached.

For the past 6 days, my array health reports have failed due to one disk (Disk 12 - sdt) reporting errors.  I've looked through the S.M.A.R.T. report, but I'm not certain how to interpret it.  Can I get a sanity check and have one of you drive gurus tell me if it's time to remove or replace the drive?  If not, what steps should I take to remedy?

This drive has literally no data on it, as it was added towards the end of my migration (not recent) and no data has been written to it yet.

I have started a SMART extended test via the dashboard, but it might take a while to complete.  If more data is needed I can post that log later.

Thanks!

This is not a good sign:

ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAGS VALUE WORST THRESH FAIL RAW_VALUE
  1 Raw_Read_Error_Rate POSR-K 200 200 051 - 3765

You can run an extended SMART test.

I'll post that once it completes.  It's at 20% currently.

SMART test passed so it's fine for now, but keep an eye on that attribute, if it keeps increasing it will likely fail again.
