I am new to Unraid and I am bit frustrating what to do.

whenever I enter "btrfs dev add -f /dev/sdb1 /mnt/disks/mypath" it gives me an error; I tried to use different browsers on both Mac/ PC but no luck.
ERROR: /dev/sdb1 is mounted

my current OS is at Version: 6.8.3.

Thanks!

Wing

That suggests you're trying to add a mounted disk, if you're trying to use multiple pools you should update to the latest beta that has native support for multiple pools.

What exactly are you trying to do? Whatever it is you probably shouldn't be trying to do it at the command line.

@winglam

I merged your threads. Not sure if you posted both times in the FAQ thread or not. Possibly the first was already moved from there.

You should only post in the FAQ thread when you are giving the ANSWER to a Frequently Asked Question.

If instead you made one of these posts in a different thread than the FAQ thread, then don't post the same question in multiple threads.

Thank you guys!

I want to keep only projects in the cache folder, and leave everything else like VM, AppData, system etc to an array in UD.

I tried to follow this guide or post step by step creating the raid array, terminal gave me an error after enter/ type the command below.

btrfs dev add -f /dev/sdb1 /mnt/disks/VM

ERROR: /dev/sdb1 is mounted

my current build is 6.8.3

the FS are BTRFS

Upgrade to the latest beta, then define a second pool using the GUI.
