Wrong driver installed, please switch the driver to v470.129.06 on the plugin page, click on Download and reboot.

Also keep in mind the Nvidia GT710 is not the best card for transcoding because it can't transcode h265 (HEVC), maybe consider buying something newer like a Nvidia T400. You can get a Nvidia T400 for about $130,- brand new, doesn't need external power and can only use up to 35 Watt.

How would I got about using this specific driver? The current list of drivers listed in the plugin doesnt list it.

I also put in an order for the graphics card that you recommended!

Thanks again for the help!

Thank you for the reply i appreciate it. This all started after i changed my CPU cooler, the card is recognized however TDARR is not transcoding and neither is Plex, i checked and confirmed the numbers are GPU ID is correct. With the plugin in GPU statistics is making my server GUI crash, and i get error 500, but when i remove the plugin everything works. I do know GPU is recognized but i will attach my diagnostics. Just out of curiosity, when i plugin my hdmi to the GPU on my tv is shows up with lines all over the place, i am wondering if my GPU is on its last leg, i need a new one for my PC so i might pick up a new on today and swap the 1080ti from my pc.

I don't give support on systems where something like this is installed:

Jun 23 19:09:37 UnRaiDI5 emhttpd: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/icon_banner downloader/script" >/dev/null 2>&1/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/icon sync/script" >/dev/null 2>&1/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/Media Rclone/script" >/dev/null 2>&1/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/Remove Logo/script" >/dev/null 2>&1/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/Unlock Nvidia/script" >/dev/null 2>&1/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/user.scripts/backgroundScript.sh "/tmp/user.scripts/tmpScripts/vm.max_map_count/script" >/dev/null 2>&1

Please upgrade to 6.10.3 then this issue will be resolved. Otherwise you have to edit a file.

May I also ask why you are still on 6.9.1 and not on 6.9.2? :D

Anyways, upgrade to 6.10.3 and the issue will be resolved. If not feel free to post again.

No particular reason I didnt go to 6.9.2, a lack of time more than anything. I read a few random comments on YT videos and such that people had a few issues with 6.10, so I was going to upgrade eventually. I'll update over the weekend and post back if I still ahve issues.

Cheers

Is CUDA available via this plug-in?

I’m running this plug-in to pass my NVIDIA Quadro P2000 to The official Plex container for HW transcoding. It seems to work well unless 4K HDR to SDR tone mapping is required, in which case the CPU (intel Xeon e3-1225 v5) seems to bottleneck while the GPU (with the Plex process executing) sits at only 5% and the video stutters every minute or so. My understanding is that tone mapping should be be possible on the NVIDIA GPU in Docker containers but only if CUDA is available in the container.

thanks!

You‘ve answered your question yourself…. :)

The driver enables all functionality from the card itself, if CUDA isn‘t available in the container it won‘t work.

Plex

Please keep in mind that Plex (and all other media servers) have most of the times issues with HDR content and Tone Mapping.

I'm in China, and this plugin simply won't correctly download the driver. At most, the download speed is 1mbps and then stalls. Is there any way to manually download the driver and have the plugin install it? Thanks!

Unfortunately no...

I think someone forked my driver and made it available through some kind of proxy if I'm not mistaken? But I'm not entirely sure about that, please search on the Chinese subforums about that.

What would be the preferred way to download the drivers from China?

This would be the download URL for the latest Nvidia driver for Unraid 6.10.3 which the plugin tries to download:

https://github.com/ich777/unraid-nvidia-driver/releases/download/5.15.46-Unraid/nvidia-515.48.07-5.15.46-Unraid-1.txz

There are maybe some ways around this, by installing the driver and when it actually downloads the driver close the window with the red X and download the driver manually and place it in the correct folder (I don't explained this here because this is really not the recommended way to do it).

I've been using this plugin with no issues for months.  After a reboot today it did not find my GPU.  I tried re-downloading the plugin and get this error:

-----ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR - ERROR------
----Can't get Production Branch version and found no installed local driver-----
-----Please wait for an hour and try it again, if it then also fails please-----
------go to the Support Thread on the unRAID forums and make a post there!------
plugin: run failed: /bin/bash retval: 1

Thoughts?

From where is this error? From the syslog or when you try to install the plugin?

I have many thoughts... :D

Do you have any AdBlocking software in your network running? Can you actually connect to GitHub from your network?

Usually this is a indication that the plugin can't pull the latest version numbers from GitHub.

Please open up a Unraid terminal and post the output from:

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ich777/versions/master/nvidia_versions

...and also watch how long that it take to execute this command, you should get a instant response.

What you can also try is that you uninstall the plugin, reboot your server, reinstall the plugin (the error should hopefully be gone) and the reboot once more or simply disable and enable the Docker service if you don't want to reboot again.

I ran the wget, it was instantaneous:

wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ich777/versions/master/nvidia_versions
CUR_PRB=515.57
LAST_PRB=515.48.07

CUR_NFB=495.46
LAST_NFB=495.44

UPDATED=2022-06-28T20:05Z

No AdBlocking software... yet

I uninstalled using:

plugin remove nvidia-driver.plg

Rebooted

Reinstalled using CA (same error was still there, but plugin seemed to install, my GPU is still not found)

Disabled/Re-enabled Docker

Selected Latest

Updated

Rebooted for the 1234569478651 time today....

And now the plugin does not appear...

What other info can I give you?

You're amazing! I tried this, and it worked!
