repomanz
Hello unraid team, I have a larger drive I just purchased that I would like to replace as my parity drive. That said, I have a drive failing also although I have moved (via unbalance) all data off the drive an into the healthy drives within the array. What is the supported process here given I need to do 3 tasks at once (if possible). 1) replace current 12tb parity with 14tb 2) replace failing 3tb drive with previous 12tb parity drive 3) physically remove failing 3tb drive from array Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
You could use the https://wiki.unraid.net/The_parity_swap_procedure, but since there is no data you want to keep on the drive you wish to remove you could also set a new config and simply assign the drives as you wish. It would shortcut the procedure by MANY hours at the expense of keeping parity valid. How healthy are the rest of your disks? Have you run extended smart tests on them recently? Quote Link to comment
