November 16, 20205 yr Hi In my system I have two 3 terabyte and one 4 terabyte disc that I want to change to three 8 terabytes disc. What is the best way to do that? I am currently moving the files from disc 3 to disc 6 using Krusader Docker. My plan was to move files from disc 4 to disc 6 also. Is this the correct way?
November 16, 20205 yr No need to move anything. The whole point of parity is to rebuild. Just replace/rebuild each one at a time.
November 16, 20205 yr Author I just made a easy task complicated.. I think I am on track now tho, removed disc 6 using this method https://wiki.unraid.net/Shrink_array doing parity sync now. Can I replace all 3 disc at once, or one by one?

Parity by itself can rebuild nothing. 3 hours ago, trurl said: Just replace/rebuild each one at a time. Parity is a common concept in computers and communications, and it is basically the same wherever it is used. Parity is just an extra bit that allows a missing bit to be calculated from all the other bits. So, parity plus all the other disks are required to rebuild a replaced disk. Parity is pretty simple and many things about how Unraid works with your array, and how you work with Unraid when managing your array, make more sense when you understand parity. Many of us who give advice here on these things can do so because we understand parity. Here is the wiki on that: https://wiki.unraid.net/UnRAID_6/Overview#Parity-Protected_Array
