I had a little play around but for some reason the adapter is detected in unraid but the blue activity light does come on.

Over here the blue light comes on too just fine, but keep in mind only after the driver was successfully installed.

We are talking about these adapters correct:

I have no issue on my server over here:

Are you also sure that you are using the Linuxserver.io version from the container?

What have you done on the plugin page?

Can you share your Diagnostics again please?

I think the driver is not installed correctly on your system.

If you follow the directions from the plugin page and install it to the container everything should work fine.

I really can't help with that since I've never saw that on my server, maybe try to create a post on the Sundtek forums or maybe @Sundtek can help over here.

Did you try this adapter on your Vu+ for a few days or only for a few hours, maybe you are correct and the DVB-C/T USB device is faulty, it could as be the case that something doesn't play nicely with your hardware, maybe check if a settings for USB devices is suspicious or try another USB port on your motherboard

I use the Hauppauge WinTV QuadHD USB TV tuner and I'm having problems with using it with Plex. I'm using your DVB Driver plugin for Unraid, but although Plex can see the tuner, it is unable to find any channels with it. I've tried to configure TVHeadend as well, and it can't find any channels either. I'm not sure if I configured it correctly however, but as far as I can tell, it has the same issue Plex has. Do you have anything else I can try?

I've also noted that in the server console, it complains about firmware loading. Is the firmware being properly loaded?

I've now found the cause of the issue this USB device isn't fully supported under Linux yet.

I found a post on Reddit where someone has the exact same issue from about 6 months ago but never reachted out to me.

From what I can tell the card/firmware is supported on a newer Linux Kernel then what Unraid is using, to be a bit more specific it should be included in Kernel 6.3 which Unraid isn't using yet. So I can't help much here.

However you can try to switch over to the TBS-OS driver package and see if this does help but I don't think so.

You'll have to wait a bit longer until it's got fully supported on Linux.

Sorry for the bad news but at least it seems that it is coming. Kernel 6.3 or newer should be included in the Unraid 6.13 RC series.

Would that work with Unraid?

The answer is complicated and apt-get is not part of Unraid because Unraid is based on Slackware and apt-get is part of Debian based distributions.

I have now built a custom package for Unraid 6.11.5, to use that please do the following:

  1. Maker sure that you've selected the LibreElec DVB package on the plugin settings page
  2. Place the attached files in /boot/config/plugins/dvb-driver/packages/5.19.17/ (if ask replace the files which are in there)
  3. Reboot your server

Please note that this package will only work with Unraid 6.11.5!

Unfortunately, I recently upgraded to 6.12.0 rc6 to experiment with any new changes that might be coming soon while my server isn't doing too much. Could you compile a copy for 6.12.0 rc6? My apologies.

@andritolion have you yet tried the new files?

Hello there. Apologies for the delay. I just moved in somewhere new and I was busy getting everything set. However, I would like to report that I can scan for channels now! Sadly, my connection is rather weak where I am at, but I think I can get that figured out and I doubt it's related to the firmware. Thanks so much!

So is it now working or not, I need a definitive answer, I'll hope you understand that.

Are you able to tune a channel and watch it?

If it's working I'll add the firmware to the package ASAP.

Unfortunately, after the update, the driver does not load. I am running 2022.07.20.

Yes, the plugin is still installed and is not in the error tab. Here are my diagnostics.

I don't see the card in lspci, this could be because it hung up (didn't properly reset).

Please try the following:

  1. Shut down the server
  2. Pull the power cord from the wall or flip the power switch at the power supply
  3. Press the power/reset button a few times (to empty the caps)
  4. Wait for at least 30 seconds
  5. Put power back to your server
  6. Power the server back on
