Windows 10 VM Input Lag

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing some strange input lag in one of my Windows 10 VMs.

While on the desktop, the mouse/keyboard will stutter/freeze momentarily frequently.

But.. if I launch a full screen game, the issue goes away entirely.

I was thinking maybe it was disk/network related, but I would've anticipated it to effect both VMs.

I have a Ryzen 3900xt running 2 VMs simultaneously, one with a GTX1080 and the other with a GTX1080TI.

This issue mostly effects the 1080TI VM (the other VM it is infrequent).

I have passed through a PCIE USB 3.0 card to each VM (there are two in the machine and they are identical).

I have tried isolating and pinning the cores.

I have tried disabling c6 state in the bios.

I have tried adding/removing the rom for the GPU with no success.

I have ensured the GPU audio is on the same bus/has multifunction enabled.

I have 2 nvme drives in the computer, and the vdisk for the VMs are on separate drives.

I am at a loss and have googled quite a bit with no luck.

Any thoughts or ideas? (I will zelle $100 if we can get this resolved).

Thanks in advance!
