Hi Unraiders,

 

My disk 1 has failed and has been returned for RMA.

 

I have a 12TB parity at the moment that i want to upgrade to a 14TB i have ready, then I plan on using the 12TB for Disk 1

 

What is the best process to do this please

I assume that at the moment disk1 is being emulated?  If so can you see its contents OK?   

 

If so then you want to use the Parity Swap procedure which is specifically intended for the case where you want to upgrade to a larger parity drive and use the current parity drive to replace a failed data drive.

 

If not then we need more information before we can advise on the best way forward.

 

 

I have used Krusader to check Disk 1 and it shows  the contents of the drive, so i expect that it is being emulated based on that.

 

EDIT:

 

Just played 2 mkv files from disk 1 so all good I am happy its emulated. I will follow your advice and go with the Parity swap.
