Shares security doesn't work

Featured Replies

Hello, I've made new user and disabled access to all shares except his home dir. But he can see all shares. Did I do something wrong? Thanks for answers.

Do they actually have access to the shares, or can they only see them?

They do.

Make sure windows isn't "helping" you by using previous memorized credentials.

Other people from outside can see it too.

Do you mean outside your LAN?

Yes

Take your server off the internet immediately!!!

You are already being attacked by bots.

What?

Shut down your server until you sort out your firewall. You must not expose Unraid directly to the internet, you must have an external firewall in place.

Go to Tools - Diagnostics and attach the complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post in this thread.

Oh, I didn't know that. How can I do that?

Looks like your server has a local IP, no evidence of hacks in syslog but of course no evidence of anything in syslog since you rebooted.

Explain exactly what you mean by this:

Have you opened ports on your router to your Unraid server?

Yes to FTP (21).

Don't

Also, built-in FTP doesn't provide for user security anyway. The Unraid users are strictly for access over your LAN. Install another FTP.
