January 29, 201115 yr Can spin up/down disk groups be defined as same as user shares and their disks. For example: Media share: disk1,disk3 Documents share: disk2 I would like the spin up/down groups to be: Group 0: disk1,disk3 Group 1: disk2 Or are the groups only defined from the hardware connections?

They are only from the hardware side. But you can define spinup group1 and group2 as you described as long as they do not use the same disks. Joe L.

January 31, 201115 yr On the unRAID Main web page, click on the disk name (it's a link), and a box will open up allowing you to modify the spindown delay as well as which spindown group to associate the drive with. In your case, I think all you have to do is make the spindown group for Disk 3 to be the same as the one for Disk 1.
February 1, 201115 yr Believe it or not I kept wondering why my Disk4 would always be on. I later realized that it was on the same group as some of my TV shows. After a while I put things together and realized that when I grabbed things from Disk4 my TV drive would spin up and vice versa. 2 weeks of it and I finally noticed/fixed LOL.
