Flemming Posted December 6, 2020 Share Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Okay. I try to move my unraid from harware to esxi. I have to drives, one parity and one normal. . First, I have added a PCI-E SATA card (IT-mode) and enabled PCI passtrough Then I have inserted the USB, but made it not to boot on hardware bios (Because of ESXi) Now, ESXI is up, I created A VM (settings below), made passtrough of my PCI-E SATA card, and made passtrough of my USB-device, I think. I am not able to boot from USB, but I have read at the forum it should be posible in ESXi 7. Any sugestions? CONFIG: Name UnRAID Datastore datastore2 Guest OS name Ubuntu Linux (64-bit) Compatibility ESXi 7.0 virtual machine vCPUs 4 Memory 20 GB Network adapters 1 Network adapter 1 network LAN-server Network adapter 1 type VMXNET 3 IDE controller 0 IDE 0 IDE controller 1 IDE 1 SCSI controller 0 LSI Logic Parallel SATA controller 0 New SATA controller Hard disk 1 Capacity 1GB Datastore [datastore2] UnRAID/ Mode Dependent Provisioning Thick provisioned, lazily zeroed Controller SCSI controller 0 : 0 CD/DVD drive 1 Backing Connected Yes USB controller 1 USB 2.0 USB device 1 Kingston DataTraveler 3.0 folowed this guide, besides that I try to move my install, not do a new install.
