Preclear - CPU usage discrepancies between unRAID dashboard and "top" command

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am currently preclearing 4 disks simultaneously. The unRAID dashboard shows high CPU usage but if I issue a "top" command in the console, I get fairly low CPU usage percentages (see attached screenshot). I tried switching IRIX mode on and off (< shift + i > in top) but it does not fix the discrepancies.

Given the CPU temperature, I am fairly sure that unRAID dashboard is correct and that CPU usage is indeed high during preclear operations.

Any thoughts ? And why would preclear cause such high CPU usage ?

Many thanks.

Best,

OP

I eventually found the reason here:

I am not exactly sure why "wait" operations use CPU and increase temperatures that much though but that is far beyond my reach anyway.
