[SOLVED] Server not detecting any drives?

Featured Replies

Hello! I'm a brand new server owner, not really a lick of experience, just youtube videos. I got my server today (Dell R720) and when installing unRaid no drives were detected. I checked in the BIOS and only the CD optical drive is detected. The raid card is a 710p. I made sure the SATA settings in the BIOS were set to RAID mode, and in the CTRL-R utility they still aren't detected. Everything seems to be hooked up correctly (I think) and the drive lights are green when I power on the server. I only have 2x 900gb drives currently. Can anyone give me a hand? I really need to figure this out! Thank you so much!

Attached are pictures of the wiring setup and the drives themselves. Really at a loss of what to do here.

Psyche boys, turns out I was a clown and didn't configure the RAID setup. Casualty averted.

Unraid IS NOT RAID and you don't want any RAID control.
