WD is replacing my WD60EFAX with WD60EFRX under RMA

I just found out about the Shingle drive issues and that it wouldn't be that it wouldn't be good with openZFS.

 

Good thing my Parity drive was already a WD60EFRX CMR drive and not the WD60EFAX SRM drive, image all the rewrites when the parity drive gets updated if it was SMR.

 

Well once I get the new drive, preclear in a stand alone unraid system that is off unless i am working on disks.   Swap disks, let it rebuild, verify if it built correctly,  then wipe and return the SRM drive to WD.

 

They let me do an advanced RMA without credit card.
