6.8.3 - Parity check / data build crash loop

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I've recently replaced one of my discs which was throwing up some current pending sector count errors and now started to have repetitive hard crashes.

I've stopped the array, replaced the drive, selected the new drive within the drop down menu and gone to start the array + parity check / data rebuild. Interestingly I'm not presented with a tick box with "Yes I'm sure" as described here:

https://wiki.unraid.net/Replacing_a_Data_Drive

I then get a hard crash, and it sounds like the discs try and spin up two or three times before unraid boots back to the main screen. The weird thing is that I still get the same behavior when the new drive isn't part of the array (i.e. when it is mounted as an unassigned device and I try running a pre-clear)

I've tried swapping PSU cables and SATA cables with no change.

I've tried tailing the syslog file on an external monitor but nothing obvious has presented itself.

Any ideas?
