December 11, 20205 yr I just replaced an unassigned drive connected to a 3ware raid card. After removing the old drive I deleted the unit (u6) and after installing the new drive it automatically created a new unit (also u6). The replacement drive now doesn't show up as an unassigned drive. Checking the logs I get lots of these... emhttpd: device /dev/sdl problem getting id Other threads point to this being a clash of ids so I suspect the fact a new drive is the same unit as an older drive is what unraid doesn't like. I just don't know how to solve this? Thanks David alphav2-diagnostics-20201211-1305.zip

Correct, as far as Unraid is concern they are both the same drive. Unless you can change the ID in the RAID controller not much else you can do, this is one of the reasons we don't recommend RAID controllers.
December 11, 20205 yr Author Ok, thanks for confirming. Will have a read of the 3ware CLI docs and see if thats possible.
