  1. I have a reverse proxy run through swag (perviously known as letsencrypt) for my own domain name. Currently lets-encrypt and most of the containers I access through that domain are on the reverse proxy BUT my openvpn container is not on the reverse proxy network. It is on the bridge network. Is there any way to direct all traffic to my openvpn subdomain to the normal bridge network instead of the proxy network? I know the easiest solution would be to just put my openvpn container on the reverse proxy network but I don't want it on the reverse proxy for security reasons. Maybe this is the wrong thread for this; If so, it would be great if you could direct me to the appropriate thread.

    Thank You.

The DNS record you want to update must already exist in order for it to be updated.

If you deleted the record, you'll need to re-create it first.

Check the containers log for any errors.

Yes, You're right, it says no record found at my domain in the logs. What is the preconfigured record supposed to be?

    **EDIT**

Nevermind I just looked back in this thread and found it. Thank you for the help! It's working like a charm.

If you have more than one domain in your account, you may need to add an additional variable to the containter template to specify the perticular domain you want to update like i had to

I am only trying to do it for one Domain Name. I previous configured the DDNS for this domain..then disabled it and deleted the DNS record associating it to my ip... and then reenabled it and that seems to be causing issues as it is not changing my DNS records anymore.

  4. Hello, I tried to use the container on one of my domains and then I wanted to revert the mapping. I removed the A key and my ip in the domain management of Godaddy but when I go to that domain it still brings up my router page instead of redirecting to the address I want it to redirect to. Could it be because my keys just haven't updated yet...it's been a couple hours...are there any other solutions...

**Fixed it just had to remove the template**

I am trying to RDP to the mac VM from a windows computer and it's not detecting or able to connect. I have enabled Remote Management and Remote Login on the VM running Mac OS. I am trying to use Microsoft remote desktop on my windows computer. Is this possible? If this isn't possible, what are some good programs that have minimal latency when using the VM as the built in VNC client has quite a bit of latency.

I think my performance may be poor too. I have two cores dedicated to the Mac OS VM. and I set the system as a Macbook pro 2017 with a dual core i5. My processor is a ryzen 3 3200g so it's 4 cores 4 threads - of which 2 cores and, consequently, 2 threads, are dedicated to the VM. Should I try changing the mac model to a lower spec model and see if it optimizes the performance?

I got Catalina downloaded instead of Big Sur :(  but all files named as Big Sur

Same. I now have catalina (instead of Big Sur which is what I chose) running though and I see the apple update thing for Big Sur. Can I update from with Mac OS Catalna to Big Sur or is that gonna cause problems?

    **EDIT**

I completely deleted then reinstalled the container with method 2 instead of just changing after the vm was installed and it worked.

I'm having the exact same issue. Frustrating...I've verified I don't have any Catalina install images on my array, so no clue where it is coming from unless it is downloading the wrong thing

I have tried changing to method 2 and it still defaults to catalina. Does anyone know what to do?

I also got that error. I deleted the custom_ovmf folder and started over.

I would also set it up using the default configuration - it will be slow, but it will work - and then once the OS is installed and working, you can edit the hardware, edit the helper script and run it again. That's what I've just done - trying to give the machine more cores and running helper before the initial setup was done did not work for me.

Thank You so much, it worked! I deleted the ovmf file, and then had to switch to method 2 and run the helper script.

  10. Hello, I've been trying to install Big Sur using Macinabox on my server and after I run the helper script and go to run the VM I get the following error:

operation failed: unable to find any master var store for loader: /mnt/user/system/custom_ovmf/Macinabox_CODE-pure-efi.fd

    image.png.b2d5741e53e87d3458f86d5a502e9dc2.png

Has anyone dealt with this error and know how to fix it. Two things to note I am running a Ryzen 3 3200g (4 cores 4 threads) so maybe there is some incompatibility issue although I doubt it. Also I have previously tried switching the allocated cores from 0 and 1 to 2 and 3 and gotten the VM started but I just get a static screen with an apple logo (no loading/progress bar) when I open it in VNC and nothing happens. Maybe it's because I have another windows VM that uses cores 2 and 3 (I did not have that VM on during install or starting the Maxinabox VM). Not sure what's going one please help!

  11. **UPDATE**

For some reason SVM had disabled itself in bios. Maybe I forgot to save or something when I changed it. I now have the vm up and running and it's working well, BUT when I try to access the vm on the server itself (hdmi out from server), I get a black screen. How do I view the output of the VM on the server itself. It works when I RDP or use VNC from another device.

  12. I am looking to create a windows 10 vm on my unraid server. It's specs are as follows:

CPU: Ryzen 3 3200g - Radeon Vega 8 integrated Graphics

Motherboard: MSI B450i gaming plus AC

Storage(2): 2tb WD RED NAS Hard Drives - running in raid 1

    PSU: Corsair RM 550x

AMD-V is compatible with both my motherboard and cpu and I have enabled IOMMU and SVM mode in bios. (SVM mode is MSI's virtualization setting). Unraid is saying: "Your hardware does not have Intel VT-x or AMD-V capability". Should I try updating the bios (not sure if running latest version)? or I saw on some other thread that clearing cmos battery may help. I don't need a dedicated graphics card to run VM's, right? Not sure what to do but I really wanted to run VM's on the system and it would be a shame if I couldn't! Oh one more thing, I'm still running the unraid trial, maybe that has something to do with it. I will gladly upgrade to the basic plan as unraid is great so far, I just wanted to make sure I didn't spend 60 dollars and for some reason it wasn't compatible with the ryzen 3 3200g as I've heard ryzen compatibility is a little on and off on unraid.
