    I currently have Satisfactory running on unraid (Thanks!). 
    I wish to run Experimental instead of Early Access, editing the docker, I dont see anything that I could make this switch. 
    how can I get Experimental of Satisfactory?
    (my friends and I have been playing server based Experimental, and I want to put the save game on unraid Satisfactory, but there is a version mis-match).

    I am blind. In the fine print of GAME_ID i see -beta experimental.

    Restore not working:

    I have a fresh install of unraid, installed Pi Hole, and made minimal changes so I could get it running and restore my backup.

    (IP for my unraid has changed, as well as pihole)

    I can see data in the backup file, however, when I restore I get a new window:

    checking logs, I found error about gravitiy.db read only..

    I removed pihole, removed appdata folder for pihole and downloaded..same thing.

    I am on unraid 6.10.0-rc1

    I googled and found info about directory ownership (checking in the docker, root owns /etc/pihole), and pihole -r

    EXACTLY what I needed! thanks!

    I ended up opening my backup, copy to clip board, opened on my flashdrive and pasted, refreshed apps tab and there they were!

    I've reinstalled unraid, formatted drives and overwrote my flashdrive.

    I'd like to recover my pinned apps (and if possible list of previously installed apps).

    Is this saved on the flashdrive? if so, where?

    It would be great to get a jump on installing apps that I previously had.

    I've been using unraid for last several months.

    I got a new server, and I started fresh; formatted drives, created new usb drive (kept the *.key files).

    Everything seemed normal, but I dont have the normal shares; only thing listed is 'disk1'.

    I've rebooted, nothing.

    Google didnt provide any hits, other than people having issues creating new shares.

    Correct, I upgraded from Basic (this now makes sense, that you point it out).
    I'd assume if I upgrade again, I will have another key file.

    I too have slow performance, but my disks are in range of 200KB/s, not MB/s.

    when I run the disk bench speed plugin, i get the usual 120-150 MB/s thru put. 

    I have a DL380p with two 420 sas cards (one built in, one a card). Neither have my drives connected.

    I am running my disks off of a DELL 9200-8E HBA. I mention this as I have read about this server running non-hp hba's slow?

    I am going to piggy-back onto this thread:

    I have a paid Unraid license.

    I've been messing around on a borrowed server, waiting for my DL380p from ebay, which just arrived.

    I have weirdness, like my docker folder is 4 levels deep...

    since my unraid doesnt have anything important, i just want to start fresh, but w/o buying a new unraid license.

     

    above it was posted:

    copy the .key file from the backup to the new /config directory"

     

     

    on /boot/config i see

    • Basic.key
    • Trial.key
    • Plus.key

    copy all three?

     

    I copy from my unraid usb stick from /boot/config/Basic.key and save that on my PC.

    I got to unraid web sit, and create a new install of unraid on my usb drive.

    I copy Basic.key back to USB /boot/config/Basic.key

    You can use my Unraid-Kernel-Helper container to build your own customized version from unRAID but keep in mind I will deprecate the container in the near future because you can add basically everything via plugins since 6.9.0-beta35.

     

    From what I know a user customized the Kernel Helper somewhere on Github but it doesn't work for newer versions of unRAID because 6.9.2 uses Kernel 5.10.28 and the FusionIO Github repos, at least the ones that I know, only support Kernel versions up to 5.0.0

     

    But aren't they too expensive for what they offer in times of really speedy and reliable NVMEs?

    Viable? Absolutely (IMO). I also mine Chia crypto, which chews up ssd's like crazy.

    Paying for a high endurance ssd is more expensive compared to the used fusionIO market (your millage will vary).
    I got a 1.2TB fusionduo (really 2x 650GB) for about $100 bucks.
    I also am trying this out to expand my tech knowledge and challenge. 
    I'd likely use nvme on a riser card for unraid cache, and the fusionIO to much out Chia crypto plots; if its going to destroy the drive, might as well be an old one.

    I've been trying to figure this out, so I thought I would post what I have so far:

     

    • There is a discord forum for fusionIO, here.
    • This tutorial gave me some info, sounds like have to get source code, build a new kernel. 
    • This is the github source code link, here
    • Need to build a custom kernal for Unraid, here (unraid uses slackware, I believe).

     

    My thought was to build a Slackware VM, here, and figure this out, build the kernel.  (Then could I copy the kernel to the usb boot drive? dont know yet). Be forewarned, Slackware is a bit of different animal, only CLI, and there was a lot of prep to convert (deb packages) to be used.

    A lot of gaps in the instructions, as I am primarily ubuntu user.

    Googling on how to get fusionIO to work with Unraid, you might come across threads about drivers and paths, which has been requested and released.
    I think we need a github project for fusionIO + Unraid so that people can contribute to this effort.
    as of this post, there are still lots of fusionIO boards on ebay. They are not the fastest, but for the home brew server crowd, this is a great, high-endurance drive I would love to get working.

    Thanks. Next question then is what are the wallets keys, i should be able to check it on the blockchain (bscscan.com?).

    RAID SAS Controller for Parity in a growing Unraid.

    I am new to Unraid and super excited about its capabilities.

    I've been cobbling together bits and pieces I have and can find on eBay.

    I started with 3 500GB sata hdd, One 2TB sata hdd (for parity) and a pcie riser with nvme for cache. Great.

    I understand to add larger storage, the parity drive has be same or larger.

    I replaced the 2TB hdd for a 4 TB hdd, rebuilt, and replaced a 500 gb with 2TB. I increased storage by 1.5TB.

     

    If I want to add a 8 TB drive for data, I also have to replace the 4TB hdd parity with a 8TB hdd.

     

    So, it can be expensive to add larger drives as I have to keep upping the parity drive to handle it.

    What about hw raid for parity drive? (I've read the posts, not a good idea, no smart info and other Armageddon issues).

    Assuming I can 'easily' add drives (or destroy, rebuild) to a raid5 array used solely for parity and this would give me a more cost effective way to absorb drives to make a large enough parity disk to support larger single hdd used for data. (I know h/w raid wants identical size drives, or at least the array will be based on smallest drive size).

    My thought is that building an h/w raid for parity would give me a lot of flexibility while I grow my storage

     

    I bought HP D2700 (2.5" 24 bay) for a song, BUT the drives are not most cost effective AND max raw storage is about 24 ish TB.
    I want to get D2600 (12 bay 3.5" enclosure), but they are like 10x the cost of the D2700 BUT the drives are cheaper and I can add mix of SAS and SATA.

    Looking to start with LSI MegaRaid 9286CV-8e 8Port 6Gbs PCIE3.0 1GB. Create a raid for party, data drives will be normal single drives.

    So, will a raid drive work, but just not ideally? 
    I look to use this approach while I find/afford higher capacity drives. 
    Also, this is bit of a work bench/geek out to use enterprise stuff that I thought I never would have in my possession.
