I currently have 4 Micron MTA9ASF1G72PZ-2G6D1 8GB DDR4-2666 ECC RDIMM modules and a Quadro P2000 laying around not in use. Are there any mobo and cpu combos you’d recommend to go with this hardware? Or should I build something using an iGPU and non-ECC memory instead?
I don’t have a case yet so I’m open to micro atx or mini itx. Though I am somewhat partial to the Fractal node 804 case.
My intent would be to use this system primarily as a Plex server. I’d only have around 3 streams at a time going but due to remote users having limited connection and the upload connection on the sever only being 8-10Mbps I foresee needing to transcode. I don’t have much 4K media currently but it’d sure be nice if this system could handle it helping to be more “future proof”.
Build Around Existing Hardware?
