  1. I've made no changes to the system since the last on time. It seems to POST just fine. I can even get into the BIOS. I tried removing or disconnecting any nonessential items from the mobo. Just a single stick of ram, a display out device, and the unraid usb drive. No storage drives connected at all. Still no change.

  2. Tried booting with a brand new thumb drive using a flash drive backup zip file that I download periodically, that didn't work. Also tried a fresh, latest unraid usb flash OS download, same results. No matter which option iI choose from the boot menu, OS GUI mode, safe mode, or even the MEMtest, it still just freezes right there. I've also tryed swapping out mem sticks, different mem channels on the mobo, no change. What else could it be?

  3. I'm new to Immich. Just started using it yesterday. Got the mobile app working perfectly while connected to my home network. Away from home on mobile data, Immich won't connect to my server. Sounds like something needs to happen in my router settings? Not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

  4. I'm trying to replace my registration key after replacing my USB flash device. When in registration tool, I don't see the link to "replace key". It says "multiple license keys present". This is a brand new flash drive out of the package. This is the first instance of Unraid it's ever had. How can there be multiple keys present? How do I fix?

  5. Need advice. Where is everyone keeping their system shares? Domain, appdata, etc? I've been keeping mine on the cashe ssd. But would that degrade the ssd faster since unraid is constantly reading and writing on it? Though, If they're on the array, that disk will never have a chance to spin down. What are best practices?

  6. Hello everyone. I'm currently working on uploading my entire DVD library onto my unraid media server via Plex. I have hundreds if not over a thousand DVDs I've accumulated over the years. I'm ripping them all with WinXDVD and an 8X external DVD drive. A full length standard definition movie takes about 10 minutes to rip. My question is: would adding a cache pool speed up the process? Or would upgrading to a 16X drive yield the best results? Is the write speed of the HDDs even being bottlenecked by the read speeds of a DVD drive? If not, then I suppose this is all just a mute point anyway. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you very much.

  7. I use WinXDVD to rip the DVDs, store them on the server, and assign a container path to point Plex to where the files are being stored. Then add a new movies library in Plex linked to the movies folder. It worked with all my photos no problem. But not DVDs

  8. I have Plex running on my server with the intention of ripping all my old DVDs to be able to watch from anywhere. I've be successful with photos. I tried using the same technique with the movies. Didn't work. Plex says it's important to name and organize them very specificly. I've done that. Now I'm hearing about DSM 7?? Do I need it? If so, what is it and how do I use it? Thanks.

  9. I'm new to unraid. I'm new to computers. I thought the point to this, at least in part, was to creat a redundant storage device to keep important files. But, I've noticed the array drives don't seem to be mirroring each other. In fact, one array drive and the parity drive do seem to be mirroring. Is that right? Screenshot_20220316-091055_Chrome.thumb.jpg.01c9e1f08d0971308e39c11d5ee610b8.jpg

  10. Where can I go to find info and user experiences about unraid? Ease of setup and use? Loading files to and from the server? Is the concept of a "personal cloud" really worth it? I have an old computer that I plan to use as the server. Obviously, I'm new to all this and would appreciate any help/guidance. Thanks!

  11. It was suggested that I use different model drives from different manufacturers to keep from possibly getting drives from the same manufacturing lot, which, if one drive had a manufacturing defect, they all could. Any validity to that concept?
