As expected emulated disk5 is now empty since it was formatted, best bet is to connect the old disk5, don't assign it anywhere, just post new diags so we can check SMART.
Here is the new diagnostics file

Here are the diagnostics, now disk 6 has the unmountable: unsupported partition message.
I still have the original failed disk 5.

Do you still have the old drive ?
When you say 'it failed' what do you mean by that ?
I still have the old drive. It had a red cross next to it, it was disabled.

I placed the drive in a free spot, now disk 6 instead of 5 and unraid cleared the drive without errors. So the drive is working. When i place it back as disk 5 it won't start because unraid is complaining i'm missing too many disks?
How can i remove the disk completely from position 6? I would expect things to go a lot smoother, i thought all i had to do is remove the bad disk and replace it with a new one. I desperately need to start my array.

One of my drives failed so i replaced it with a brand new drive and get the message "Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout".
I formatted the drive but that does nothing, after formatting i still get the same message. I placed the drive in my windows pc, did an extended smart test and everything is fine and the drive works in windows.
I tried a different sata cable, a different sata port and nothing works. I am getting desperate with this, this should be a simple plug and play operation.
Did a short smart test in UnRaid and that completed with no errors.
Hope someone can help me with this.

Sorry for the late answer, i managed to rebuild disk 5 and resync my parity 2 disc. Unfortunately i lost the data on disk 5, but the important stuff is still there. I learned a lot
Anyhow, thank you for your support, you were very helpful !
