Any reason you are using 3tb sas drives? If you are buying them, you would be much better off buying 10tb sas drives. There is an ebay listing for $99 for used 10tb hgst sas drives

I’m using 3TB drives to start off with, since they were less than $3/TB. Eventually they are going to be larger. Thanks for your help!

I have one final question. This is expandable to 12 drives pretty quickly, however, power becomes an issue. I am relatively new to reading PSU power tables, and I am not sure if I can buy SATA splitters to connect more hard drives, or if there is a different way to power the drives.
