  1. Hi everyone. I'm facing the same problem. I have 3 vms running (1 win10- no gpu passthrough, 1 homeassistant and 1 windows 10 with gpu passthrough) and some dockers.

The vm with gpu passthrough, starts up but after I while gets paused.

I have my vms on an 240gb ssd cache (120 gb used, 117 gb free).

I'm also attaching my server's log.

Could you please advice how to resolve this problem, since the vm is used to display info of my home automation system (as a kiosk display)?

  2. Hi everyone.

I'm having a big problem with my unraid server.

I'm trying to set up a windows 10 vm iot run blue iris application for my cameras.

I have already set up 2 vms (homeassistant and windows 10) but with no gpu passthough and they run okay. I have also 4 docker containers with no issues.

Every time I try to create and start the new vm with gpu pass-through (sapphire pulse rx 580 8gb) my unraid server freezes and I have to hard reboot it.

    How can I resolve this?

My hardware is : supermicro x8dtl-3f mobo with dual xeon x5670, 24gb ram ecc, 16 tb array (with one parity disk) and 2 ssd's (one 240gb for docker and vms and one 120 gb as cache).

Many thanks in advance for your reply.

    Regards Nick.

    P. S. I'm attaching a screenshot of my vm set (that freezes unraid)

    This is the repeating line:

Jun 8 02:56:31 Tower kernel: w83795 0-002f: Failed to read from register 0x02f, err -6

Can you try booting in safe mode? Or since it looks sensor related try uninstalling the system temp plugin.

I think problem solved. I've uninstalled the system temp plugin rebooted and now the error disappeared.

OK I will uninstall the plug in and check it out. Thanks again for the tip

As you mentioned you should be using the hashed url not the ip - the host unreachable error suggests to me that you have the unraid api on a custom bridge on the same machine as the unraid box itself? Unraid does not allow custom bridged dockers to reach the host.

It looks like you have this set up in both home assistant and unraid? You only need the api in one or the other - I would recommend using the unraid one as the home assistant one is unreliable and outdated. It also looks like youre hosting the mqtt broker on home assistant - assuming that is all set up correctly with auto discovery and the unraid api is configured to read in from the unraid server you should be good to go

    Hi ElectricBrainUK.

It worked. Did exactly what you said and now works fine.

    Many thanks my friend

    Cheers

  7. Hi everyone.

My name is Nick and I'm a newbie on unraid.

I was using a QNAP nas at the beginning, then moved on another NAS software when I found out about unraid.

My question is this: I have setup an Unraid server with four 4TB disks, two 2TB disks and one ssd as cache.

For now I use a trial key iot see how unraid works and performs, but I'm willing to buy a licence before the trial period ends.

On the unraid page I see that there are 3 types of licences. I was planning on buying the Basic, but on the page says I'not eligible for that.

Is this because I have in total 7 disks (including the cache drive)?

If yes, can I just remove the one 2TB disk (and have it as spare) iot be able to buy the Basic licence?

    Please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any reply

    Regards Nick
