I've never used Plex, maybe try asking in the support thread for the release you are using, or someone else might be able to help here.

It appears I have spoken too soon. Now the server is having issues again, but Plex is still disabled. It is either NZBget or Sonarr/Radarr, but I cant really test one without the other. With them being enabled, the issue never happens. It's only when the Arrs start sending the downloads to NZB. Surely there has to be a log somewhere that will show an issue?

Try starting the containers one at a time to see if there's one culprit.

After going through one by one and then in various pairs, it seems the issue is with Plex. With plex running by itself, there are minor hiccups (nowhere as bad as it usually is). However, as soon as one of the Arrs begins to download via NZB, the issues begin. Running the Arrs and NZB with Plex stopped works just fine. I have already removed the plex docker and added a new one back in but the problem persists. Could this be a plex config issue? The cpu and memory utilization on the server don't seem to be the issue, so I am not sure what else to check. Everything is up to date.

Nothing out of the ordinary logged that I can see, does it do the same if you start in safe mode? If yes does the same happen if you stop the docker service?

With the server running in safe mode and syslog disabled, the issue is still present. Without dockers enabled, I won't be able to troubleshoot further. The issue only occurs when using said docker containers. Is there a way to narrow this down further?

Enable the syslog server and post that after a crash.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I have enabled the syslogserver, and rebooted the machine. Upon reboot, the machine now hangs up almost constantly, and the dockers/machine are nearly unusable. I have attached the syslog file, as well as a current diag file. Thank you

  5. Hello, all. I keep having an issue, and after multiple suggestions from the FB group not resolving the issue, I was told to try posting here.

I have a server setup just for my home media. No VMs, only a few docker containers (Plex, Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, and NZBGet). I keep having an issue where when importing new shows/movies with the Arrs, or using plex on tvs around the house, the server will suddenly become unresponsive and won't load. All dockers stop, and the GUI of unraid will not load.

When this happens, the server still responds to ping requests. It hangs up on my PC, as well as locally with a monitor/keyboard right on the server.

    Things I have tried:

    Updating/removing and reinstalling dockers

    new network config in Unraid

New 10 gig DAC cables, as well as Cat6a cables to the server, and new switching ports on net cards/switches

Nothing has been successful yet. Sometimes it hangs for about 20 seconds, other times up to 20 minutes. I have 2 other unraid instances that have no issues, albeit with different docker containers/VMs. I have attached my diag file. Thank you in advance!

    **EDIT**

I am unsure if this helps, but this is on a Dell poweredge T420, running unraid 6.11.5.

  6. Does anybody know of a way when using the autorip function inside of the MakeMKV container for it to skip a file based on size? My wife is having me import her "Full House, the complete series" into plex, and the whole series is spread across 64 DVDs (happy wife, happy life is what I'm told). However, when the contents of the disc load into MakeMKV, it shows all of the episodes, and then 1 large file that contains ALL of the episodes on that disc but in one file. Can I set MakeMKV up in a way to ignore files above 2 gigs? When I manually deselect the large file from MakeMKV, the rips take about a third the time, and then I don't have to go into the output folder and delete the big file that was written for no reason. Or rather, is there a way to have plex upload all of the separate episodes correctly just using the one large file? Then I could just set MakeMKV to ignore files UNDER 2 gigs. Any ideas?

The problem is that both drives are being added to both pools, so they have not been properly separated at the btrfs level from when they were in the same pool.   Hopefully the linked thread will help with a way to recover from this.

I should have looked there first. Another user did the same thing recently.

Thank you both for the help! My issue is resolved, and everything is running smoothly! THANK YOU!

I am still waiting for the BTRFS operation to complete. Is it also doing something to the array? I wouldn't have thought it would take so long considering the drives in question are flash storage.. Then again, like I said before, I am a real noob here.

I think there must be something wrong with your cache setup as it look as if both the ssd devices are mounting into both pools which is confusing things.  Did you at any point have them both in the same pool.?

I just noticed another odd thing. Both my cache pools show capacities of 750gb each, but pool 1 has a 1tb drive and pool 2 has a 500 gig drive. Are these pools setup as raid1 even though they are separate pools? I am beyond confused. I messed something up for sure

Mover ignores files that are not on the designated pool.

Your appdata share is set to prefer nvme_cache, but it also has files on cache, which will be ignored by mover.

Your domains share is set to move files from cache to the array. All its files are on the array. Often people will want this share to prefer to stay on fast pool so VMs will perform better and not keep array disks spunup. Depends on how large your vdisks are. VMs can access Unraid storage so maybe not necessary to create large vdisks.

Your isos share is set to prefer nvme_cache, but it also has files on cache, which will be ignored by mover. Maybe not even necessary to have that share on fast pool since it may not need to be accessed by VMs except for installs.

Your NAS share is set to prefer nvme_cache, but it also has files on cache, which will be ignored by mover. Are you sure you want this share to prefer to stay on fast pool?

Your PLEX share is set to move files from cache to the array, but it also has files on nvme_cache, which will be ignored by mover.

Your system share is set to prefer nvme_cache, but it also has files on cache, which will be ignored by mover.

Why is everything going onto both pools? How do I stop this and fix it so it can be moved to the array?

Yes, actually. When I first set it up, I wanted two pools, but forgot to add the second pool and both cache drives went into the same pool. I used new config to split them into separate pools. But you're right, it's acting like it's all one pool still. How do I move all the files where they belong and prevent this from occurring again?

  12. Greetings. Fair warning, I am very new to unRAID, so I may be congesting this forum with an ultimately dumb question.

So far, all I have setup on my unRAID server is Plex, and MakeMKV (to rip dvd's into plex). I used guides on the forums to set them up, but they seemed straight forward enough. From what I have seen on google, the cache settings will cause files to remain and be skipped by mover (or even cause mover to add TO the cache rather than subtract from it). I have gone over my cache settings again and again, but I can't figure it out. I am also puzzled by the free memory column. I don't have a single VM yet, so why is it the only thing showing the right amount of free storage on my array? Everything else is showing the remainder of my NVME cache, and nothing shows the SSD cache remaining memory. What did I mess up? 1487659197_unRAIDshares.thumb.png.05a5d9e4c24efd65b3de92b618f01dfd.png350237798_unRAIDshares.thumb.png.db2351981ba47c0489e905acc88d2377.png
