According to udev, there is one gpt partition but it is not formatted. If you can work with the disk on a Windows PC, the disk is foratted in a way Linux doesn't understand. Where was the disk formatted?
I am pretty sure I did it on a Win 10 machine, is there a way around this?

Hi, I am now at the stage of uploading data to my Unraid server, unfortunately the only option in my Unassigned 3Tb external drive is to Format. I have checked it has data on a Windows PC, tried both eSata port and USB, I have downloaded the diagnostic file but I couldn't figure out the issue, hope you can help.

I am a new user of Unraid and have been following Space invader one tutorials. I have set up my server and now want to add data. I have a 3TB external drive which I have loaded Home Movies etc from my Win 10 Pc. Unfortunately, when I attach it to my server as an unassigned drive, the only option Unraid gives me is Format. Following Ed's advice I have installed the two Plug in's, Unassigned devices and Unassigned devices Plus, which I understand will allow a NTFS file system to be recognized by Unraid. I have checked the device settings and the only boxes active are automount and show partitions. I assume this is all that's required. The other thing I tried was making sure I can see the files a Windows PC and as a last resort I swapped the drive into another external drive bay, still the same issue. Am I doing something stupid here? If so please excuse a newbie.

That didnt work, I ended going on a windows PC, saw that it was just a basic volume, no partition, and so I shrank it and now can mount.
