So we would need some more details.

When I do this, I remove the disk I want to replace from the pool in unRAID by stopping the array, removing the disk then restarting the array. ZFS reports the pool is degraded and a disk is missing. I then stop the array and physically replace the drive ( I don't have to power the server off as I have hot swap drive bays) once the new drive has been added to the pool to replace the old one, I start the array. At this point ZFS should detect a new drive to replace the missing one and automatically start the resilvering process.

What do you mean when you say it shows disk 2,3 and 4 as wrong? Wrong how?
Are you sure the resilvering process was completed before you replaced the last drive?
Did you check the logs in unRAID for any info.
Do you have a backup of your data?

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Yes I replaced disk 1,2 and 3 without error and all completed resilver fine. When I then changed disk 4 and restarted unraid reported that disk 1 was fine in the zfs array but the others showed as 'wrong' at the side of the disk serial number.

I do have a backup, some things have been lost but essential stuff I have yes.

    Thanks John.

  2. Hi all,

Looking for some urgent help if possible. I am running a 4 disk zfs array which had 4 x 4TB disks on a raidz1. I upgraded the disks to 4 x 10TB, I did the first, second and third all resilvered fine, I then shut down the server and replaced the 4th disk when I restarted expecting to simply select new disk 4 and start the resilver unraid shows disks 2,3 and 4 as wrong.

I have not proceeded any further as wanted to see what to do from the community and not risk potential data loss although does not look great at moment...

    Hope someone can help

  3. Hi Ich777,

So its been over an hour and still stuck on do not close this screen, I have performed some network tests and all is ok, I have no problem installing other apps and 'done' appearing. What I have noticed though is that when I start a clean install of the nvidia driver it starts downloading at 3MB/s for approx 5 seconds and then the download stops. I tried downloading that file you sent me and it downloads at a steady 2.3MB/s.

I just can't seem to pull the driver from github. I use pfsense but its pretty much a vanilla install and as said there is no problem installing other apps.

Can you open up a terminal from Unraid itself and type in:

    modprobe nvidia

If you get no output or error message please post your Diagnostics again, if you get a error message please post the message here.

    So, output was

modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found in directory /lib/modules/5.15.46-Unraid

I have attached latest diagnostics again....

  5. Hi All,

So I have my unraid server running pretty good. I have a Gigabyte Aorus Master motherboard running a AMD 3900x processor and 32 GB Ram, a RTX 2070 Super is installed in PCIe Slot 1 and I get output fine from a monitor. When I install the Nvidia Driver app it installs, I reboot but when I open the app it shows no GPU found even though there is monitor output. I have updated the Bios to the latest version, and tried all the bios settings people have said on the forum but to no avail. The GPU is found in System devices and can also be Bound if I was running a VM (which I am not). I have attached the diagnostics as I am at a total loss now and have spent 2 days trying to get the GPU seen by the nvidia driver app.

Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated.

  7. Hi All,

I am very new to unRAID but loving the trial so far and will most likely purchase at the end. One question I would like to ask is, currently I am using a QNAP 872XT 8 bay NAS with i5 processor and 16GB RAM, sadly two of the drive bays are totally dead so I am wondering what to do. One thing I have thought of is to purchase a Fractal Design 7 XL case and move my main PC build into it which is a AMD Ryzen 3900x 12 core / 24 thread processor, 16GB ram, NVME drives etc. I would then turn the ryzen into my unraid server, increase the memory to 64GB and virtualise my pc along with other things I run like plex, unifi etc. I do have a Geforce GTX 2070 Super which I presume I can pass through for my main PC (which is enough for me) and I also have a GTX 1050Ti which I could pass through for plex transcoding - only problem I don't have onboard graphics if I needed to access unraid. How would you guys go about this, would you just access it from the virtual pc - what if there are network problems?

I just wanna make sure everything is doable before starting....

    Thanks in advance.
