It will be.   When copying directly to a disk share you are by-passing the settings on User Shares that control where files should be placed.   For them to have kicked in you would have to have been using /mnt/user/Movies as the target (or the Movies share over the network).

Now that I look at this makes complete sense, not sure why I didn't see it before.

Not sure where you read this - it is definitely OK.    What is NOT OK is copying mixing a User Share and a Disk share in the same command as if you are not careful this can lead to data loss.

Read part of the user shares wrong, I am still pretty new to linux systems I've read the User Share propably 3 times already and I'm only getting bits and pieces as I read.  I'll keep reading.

    Thanks for the help

  2. So I have my Movie Share set to have 2TB (14TB drive) for minimum free space.  I have 2 drives set as Included Discs.  My allocation method is "Fill-Up".

I copy/move my movie files from my windows PC to my UnRaid Server, using Dynamix File Manager plugin on my unraid server.  This is my copy from/to location:   /mnt/remotes/WindowsPC_Disc M/Video   /mnt/disk5/Movies/

Not sure why but I have gone past my minimum free space on my 1st disk drive.  my files are not automatically switching to my 2nd included drive.  Not sure if it is my Dynamix plugin or I have a setting incorrect.  I went a ahead and moved files from my full disc to my empty disc. Then I read that this was a no no.  Moved files appear to be fine and my full disc is now showing it is below my minimum threshold.

I was thinking that my copy to location being disk5 may be the reason??

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

  3. Finally got it figured out, going over Network Access again, I saw a little note saying network must be on "eth0"; lght bulb went off. I had taken apart my build again to add some fans and put it all back together & I hooked up my lan cable to the wrong port, its always the small things.

DFM is a work in progress and overtime additional features and functionality will be added. Please post your ideas about possible new features and enhancements in this topic.

I'd like to see a simple copy of the file address.  So where ever you are within the file structure of unraid I can click a button and this will copy the file address.

  7. This thread "about:blank#blocked for all WebUI links" By Alexstrasza gave me new info.  The container CA form has a generic WebUI address of http://[IP]:[PORT:8096].  Change this to the generic address to the actual hard address eg. http://192.168.0.5:8096, this gave me a Timeout error but it is a change.  The 2 addresses I find for jellyfin are the JELLYFIN_PublishedServerUrl: and the Port Mapping ip addresses.  Both of these address give me a timeout error.  Is there a different ip address that I should be using for jellyfin WebUI?

    Thanks

2/9/24 I have the same issue with all my dockers.  I ended up deleting all my dockers and I reinstalled only 1 container so this problem was smaller for me.   I also had the same issue as sasbro97 where my container did not show a web address in the port mapping area.  When I reinstalled 1 container this solved the port mapping missing an ip address.

Dizzienoo's post gave me some relief:

As other people have mentioned, the workaround seems to be to hardcode the web UI links, e.g http://192.168.1.100:8080, this setting can be accessed from teh conainter edit page under the "advanced" settings (activated by the advanced button in the top right of the page).

As an extra note, I had issues simply adding 192.168.1.100 or just a port number in the web UI field, it would always add a / between the IP address and whatever was put after.  It seems to resolve this you either need to use the default [IP]:[PORT] template or use a full http:// url

With adding the ip address to WebUI at the containers CA form did change the aboutblank#blocked error to a "The connection has timed out" error, which gives me some hope.  I'm thinking the ip address I have added to WebUI is incorrect.  I have tried the JELLYFIN_PublishedServerUrl:  ip address and the ip address shown for port forwarding both of these address gave me the timeout error.

If anyone knows the correct ip address to use for the jellyfin WebUI, it would be brilliant if passed this on.

    Thanks

  9. does anyone know the actual IP address jellyfin uses for webgui.

My port forwarding address is 172.17.0.2.

    My JELLYFIN_PublishedServerUrl: is 192.168.0.5

I have entered both of these directly in browser and get the error "The connection has timed out".  I have also entered these into the Container Form for WebGui and this also gave me a timeout error.

Makes me think these address are incorrect.  At the very least I am not getting the about:blank#blocked error. :)  At this point I will take any change as positive progress.

  10. I am having a frustrating issue with the WebGui not opening a webpage.  When I try to access the WebGui i get a blank web page with "about:blank#blocked".  The app was working for a week or so, I was able to setup my media libraries and watch shows on my jellyfin clients.  I just cant access the webgui from my windows PC or my tablet which was no problem before.  I have disabled every security barriers on all my web browsers (chrome, firefox, brave and edge) with no luck.  I have added web IP addresses as trusted site.  I have shutdown & restarted server.  Unistalled jellyfin and reinstalled (along with all  my other containers) still get "about:blank#blocked".  Now since i uninstalled and reinstalled jellyfin I cant access the webgui and I am unable to acces jellyfin from any of my clients.  I've been at this for roughly 5 days and I am out of ideas.

I'm hoping you can help. I've attached the jellyfin logs from when I last installed jellyfin container.

Here also is a screen shot of my container basic stats

Jellyfin container Log - new instal.txt

  11. image.thumb.png.a6b7c55214bcc63afd9d7ed27b33c790.png

Reinstalled jellyfin container... still getting "about:blank#blocked".  I have done everything I can think of turned off every security feature I can think of, added unraid server to trusted site, added the jellyfin port mapping ip address to trusted sites.  I am back to NO on Use SSL/TSL, in managment access.  I am at a loss, I really liked unraid for a lot of reasons but not being able to use docker is kindof a deal breaker.

The most common reason given for getting the about:blank#blocked error is an address too long, or bad certificate.

Now I am unable to open jellyfin from a web browser or my clients on the TV.   Going from bad to worse...

    Thanks for all the help

For the cert I don't know, I don't use https for unraid itself since it's only internal.

I have tried changing the "Use SSL/TLS:" from Yes to No back to Yes, unable to select Strict.  Does not matter where I set this setting I still get the "about:blank#blocked" error.  I did shut down the web browser after each change, to no affect.

Here is my management access settings, just for fun.

My last try to make this work is to delete them all and reinstall 1 at a time and try opening webgui as I install the dockers.

    Thanks

  13. That may be the problem, tried another browser and this is showing at the prompt "about:blank#blocked".  With Brave & Edge I get the blank#blocked error with Firefox i get no error and no added web page.

I shut down Sponsor Block, ghostery, Kaspersky VPN & Kaspersky safe browsing, none of these work.  I can try & add the IP address as trusted address, but is the address going to be static?

I am also getting this now when opening Unraid WebGui  "NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID".

When I 1st started using unraid gui it opened no problem, then I started getting trust certificate errors I downloaded the certificate worked a couple of days now I am getting NAME_INVALID error. .

    Thanks for the help Kirah

  14. These are my docker containers

    image.png.37b7b7162408e33c5094d03a672d9f7f.png

Every one of my containers will not run the WebGui.  I can start and stop each container but I am unable to get to webgui.  I have shut down the array and restarted it, shut down my system and restarted. Stopped docker completed a restart of my system then started docker.  Console will run for all containers.

The last docker container I was working on was luckyBackup, where I was getting nginx errors - not enough memory. This was over my head so I stopped.  I configured an SMB share to my windows 11 computer and I then downloaded the container backuppc and could not get into webgui.

I generally have not messed with the CA form when initially setting up a container the only exceptions are jellyfin which has been working with no problem and HalfLife which I have not been able to get working.

    Thanks for any help

Because that's how it's supposed to be since it's cleared, you then just need to format it within the array.

Sorry for the slow learning process, but this is from the unraid manual in the clear vs pre-clear chapter.

"It is also important to note that after completing a 'Preclear' you must not carry out any operation that will write to the drive (e.g. format it) as this will destroy the 'Clear' state."

This is why I am confused.  Manual states Not to format a cleared drive.

    Thanks

Not sure why my per-cleared disk showed it was "unformatted and unmountable" in my disk array, this is when I disabled the drive and got to the screen (image below).  This is where I went down the rabbit hole.

I see their is a check box next to the start array button (i think called) "deselect drive from array"

Actual text was "Start will disable the missing disk and then bring the array on-line. Install a replacement disk as soon as possible."

  17. I formatted the drives before pre-clear, this drive was a used drive from a qnap so I formatted before clearing.  My unraid version is within my signature v6.12.6,

My drive is rebuilding now, when this is complete I will go back and see if I can duplicate this message & check box, and let you know.

I posted to an old thread because I googled unraid preclear wont mount or something close and this thread came up, and I answered to it because I thought this might be good info for someone else to have.

  18. Waring for others

Just went thru a 52 hour pre-clear on a 14TB drive  I stopped my array added the pre-cleared drive to the array started the array backup I went to shared to add this new drive as part of a share. I go back to main and I see the new drive is unmountable, unformated.  I stop the array, deselect the drive from the array and go to try and format but their is no format button, I keep looking for the format button, I see their is a check box next to the start array button (i think called) "deselect drive from array", I click the start array with check box checked this and the drive goes to unmounted devices I then format it, stop array add drive start array and the array now the system wants to do a 15 hour rebuild, argh!!.  Must have been me trying to add this new drive to shares, I'm assuming, that triggered the need for rebuild.  So now after a pre-clear of 52 hours I need to have a data-rebuild of 15 hours.  argh again!!

Your Pre-Cleared drives need to be Formatted, before use,

  19. I will have to do some research and set this up, but why is this instantaneous working from a windows environment as compared to moving files with Krusader or rsync.  I am doing the same function but with a different tool?

Here is my rsync terminal command  rsync -avh "/mnt/user/Download/Movies/" "/mnt/user/Movies".  I am moving files from same drive, same directory just taking files down 1 directory file level and rsync and krusader want to do a cut and paste operation.  Just makes me think I am doing something simple wrong.

    Thanks for the input
