  4. one other question, if I were to build 2 machines, one primary and one holding  a duplicate backup of each drive (ie. drive 1 backed up to drive 1 on backup box, drive 2 backed up to drive 2 on backup box), if drive 2 failed on the primary, can I just pull out the drive 2 from the backup box and plug it i and have it just run again as it is a duplicate drive?

You wouldnt need to do all that. If a single drive fails in an unRAID server, you just put in a blank hard drive in its place and it will automagically rebuild the data that was in that slot.

  5. I actually don't know what NIC the board uses, since Jetway is decidedly vague on that point, even on their website and in the motherboard manual.  I assume it is a Realtek NIC based on the audio and other chipsets, but I'm not sure which one exactly.  In any regard, it is not one of the problematic ones as my tests should have identified any NIC incompatibility or other issues.

My contact at JetWay informs me that this board does indeed use the RTK8111E

Also Stephen, if you want I can shoot you over the spec sheet for all of JetWay's boards. I recieved an updated one yesterday.

I also just noticed that the JHZ03-GT-V2-LF is still on this list. Not sure why everyone has it as discontinued. Maybe they forgot to take it off this list.

  6. Is shipping free?

    No

Also, are you selling the new version of the 4224 (with no front USB port) or the old version (with a front USB port)?

They will be shipping the old version until they run out, and as my contact is on vacation, he is unsure of the current stock. So I guess the answer is yes? lol

Since you are reselling the 4220 and 4224 that are both readily available elsewhere, you might consider adding some value by selling them with 120mm fan plates...

Actually, I like that Idea. Bracket is now included as an option for these models.

  7. I am not saying he should be having the issues now, but he states that he is going to be having 6 drives now and adding more in the future. The 430w just doesnt have to power for that. Even Raj stops using them after his 5 drive systems and bumps up to the 500w psu.

The fact that it is making noise right now indicates it is a bad psu. Even if it did not have enough power for the equipment hooked up to it, it should not be making noise, especially when the system is not on.

    I would RMA it myself.

  8. Looks Good!

Dislikes: Whining from PS might have to RMA, anyone else have this problem?

Think your pushing the limit of the 430 PSU, I never go more than 5 drives on it and your at 6 and adding more.

Do I need to put filters on outgoing air?

No, you don't want to trap dust inside, let it out if it is in there.

Should I use the  Mobile Rack for 3.5 inches SATA HDD - Open Frame for the parity even though does not have a fan?

Does the Parity get hotter than Data drives because it is constantly being written to, if so should I use it as a dedicated preclear

I wouldnt trust a production drive not being actively cooled, but if you wanna throw it in there and monitor the temps, thats an option.
