  1. I installed a windows 10 VM using all the default settings and it has given me nothing but weird issues. Using the default graphics driver, the mouse periodically just stops working. I tried multiple fixes for this based on forum posts, and after reinstalling the virtio drivers the mouse worked again. For exactly one day. I have tried multiple mice, and nothing works. I managed to install teamviewer on the VM and remoted into the machine, and the mouse worked fine. I really don't want to have to remote desktop into my VM every time I need to administer it so I started trying other fixes. I have now got mouse control using the cirrus graphics drivers, but now I am limited to 800x600 resolution. I see many posts about this same issue. Is there really no way to run a windows 10 VM in unraid without it breaking like this? I am fine running the cirrus drivers, but I can't squint at the computer at 800x600. So my questions are:

    1. Is there a way to run a windows 10 VM with QEMU drivers and have a working mouse?

    2. Is there a way to increase the resolution with the cirrus drivers above 800x600?

This is quite frustrating. I have been an unraid user for years and have nothing but loved it. That is, until I started trying to do VMs that are non linux. There has to be a solution for this and I am willing to try anything to get it to work so I don't have to build a whole different computer to run my smart home/camera software.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I have been at this with help from some friends for days, and the best we have gotten to actually control the mouse is using the cirrus drivers and I am getting too old to see 800x600 :D not to mention I can't even click where I need to on that small a screen.

I can post diagnostics if that would help solve these issues.

  2. I am trying to follow Spaceinvaderone's windows 10VM installation. I have downloaded brand new ISO's from Microsoft, and VirtIO drivers. The VM boots to the "press any key to continue" which I do, and it just goes back to the Tiano screen and stays there. I have tried several different fixes I have found on the forums here, and none of them seem to work. I have tried using only one thread. I have tried using SeaBIOS. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  3. This was not entirely accurate. Let me try to start again. I think I started my VM service again, thus creating a new libvrt file. I have backups of my vdisk1.img file. When I try to create a new VM with my vdisk1.img file, it does load, but seems to be missing a bunch of data. Is this expected behavior?

  4. I replaced my cache drive, and forgot about a VM that was on there. I can still mount it and access the disk image, but where do I find the XML? Or what is the best way to restore the VM ? I still have the same flash drive, and access to anything that was stored on the cache drive including the disk image.

  5. Hello. I recently lost almost all of my data drives, but my cache drive with all of my dockers on it seems fine. Is there a way to extract a list of my DB from this drive to know all of the TV I'm missing? (Plex DB extraction would be even better as that would have everything that I've lost)

    Thanks in advance!

  6. No. I try to use the programs as they're intended to avoid things like this. I don't think these mappings are an issue, I may be wrong. I am a mod on a fairly decent sized indexer. I advise loads of people each day how to setup their automation. KISS rings true all the time. Don't try to go outside the box unless you know what you're doing. Again, this may have squat to do with this issue but you aren't making it easier on yourself going outside normal directory conventions. I would just use the downloads folder as it's intended in its' intended place for what it's worth. See if that works, it's worth a try

  7. In a normal Usenet SAB / Sonarr / Couch(Radarr) scenario your downloaded files end up in /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/config/Downloads or somewhere underneath /mnt/cache/appdata/sabnzbd/

Again, I'm not saying this is your issue, just seems overly complicated for no reason is all

  8. Why have you pulled the /downloads directory out from underneath where SAB (and everything else for Usenet) wants to be downloaded ? I don't know if that's necessarily the issue but it's better to keep it simple and inside the box if you aren't quite sure what you're doing. There's a reason why SAB has categories and separates things like movies and TV shows

  9. Rebooted, still same thing. Those files won't delete. Also, when I try to stop the array from the GUI it hangs on "unmounting disks". I don't know if that helps or not. I was able to use "powerdown" through SSH, then once it reboots I can stop the array normally. But it seems like if I try to touch those files something happens and the GUI can't unmount the array.

EDIT: Stopped the array, ran a test on the (3 month old) cache drive and I get this: which references the 3 files I can't delete.

  10. I recently found this docker unresponsive. I tried to remove it, as well as the image and delete the data to find that two files / directories are what look to be corrupted and will not delete. How do I get rid of these files and re-install this docker? No matter what I do I can't find a way to delete these files. They also show ? for user and attributes.

  11. I have had an issue with my server just randomly powering off with no apparent reason I can think of. User wgstarks suggested using your (awesome) Fix Common Problems "Troubleshooting Mode". Just a few minutes ago, my server again randomly powered off, a parity check was initiated as it was not a clean shutdown. I did have troublshooting mode running when this happened. I did not get a screenshot of the screen when this happened as it seems completely random and I am unable to reproduce it at will. However I can upload my syslog, but where is the file that the troubleshooting mode log resides (or is it the same file?) so I can also upload this?

Thanks again in advance very much Squid, your work and attention to these forums and users speaks for itself.

  12. Recently I have seen that this plugin is telling me "

The template URL the author specified is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/linuxserver/docker-templates/master/linuxserver.io/plex.xml. The template can be updated automatically with the correct URL.

When I click "fix" it gives me a success message, but the warning does not go away. I click fix again, and get another success message but I'm not sure if it's actually changing anything. Should I just click fix then ignore warning?

Sorry if this is a silly question it just doesn't seem to work as expected.

  13. alright, it still says the mover is running but I dont see what it's moving. And about those other shares as I do have VMs and dockers so I just want to make sure I have the other ones set correctly as well. Thanks Squid you're always a huge help. Should I make these changes and then somehow stop the mover or reboot and then run it again?

EDIT: I rebooted to stop the mover, it now it moving appdata back to /mnt/cache. which other shares should be set to "prefer" before I turn my dockers and VMs back on?

  14. I've tried to follow this, and my new cache drive is up and working. Although I've set all of my shares to use cache "yes" except for appdata, and I've hit the mover and it isn't moving that folder back to the cache drive. The appdata share is set to use cache only. And ideas other than just a giant copy? Can someone tell me what the preferred settings for each of my shares should be? I do have VMs and Dockers on here. I just am not quite sure why saying cache disk only on appdata would not move that share to /mnt/cache/appdata

    Thanks in advance

  15. Apologies. The only thing even slightly different about my setup is I have no optical drive. The docker installs to /mnt/cache/appdata/makemkv. When I install the docker now, there is no settings.conf file at all, and it gives me the 30 day warning. If I then stop the doctor, create a settings.conf file and add the line with the code in it, then restart the docker the settings.conf file reverts to not having the key. Note the modify time for settings.conf in the 2nd set of terminal windows, and you can see it's been modified as the docker starts and the app key is goneCapture.thumb.JPG.ae0bedc4028cef795db13f00c1bfae09.JPG
