  1.

Hmm, the plot thickens.  Let's try something else.  Similar to how you did iommu=nopt, I want you to add this to your syslinux.cfg (you can get rid of iommu=nopt).

    vfio_iommu_type1.allow_unsafe_interrupts=1

Apply that change, reboot your system, and see if that helps.

tried it, sadly still crashed pretty fast.

only this time, only one of the vm crashed but it seems to be different everytime so..

edit: nevermind they both crashed and the second time it froze unraid and I had to force power off the PC

  2. "iommu=nopt"didn't work out...

instead of a full crash I now get a freeze on both vm and no response from server.

I found out that one of my *VM is faulty and the other is running pretty good (but the faulty one crash the good one)

I also tried to reinstall graphics driver on the faulty one but windows stop working everytime on the installation.

Unraid shows no errors on the hard drive and it's pretty much a factory new (slow but new)

    here's my syslinux in case:

    default /syslinux/menu.c32

    menu title Lime Technology, Inc.

    prompt 0

    timeout 50

    label unRAID OS

      menu default

      kernel /bzimage

      append iommu=nopt initrd=/bzroot

    label unRAID OS GUI Mode

      kernel /bzimage

      append initrd=/bzroot,/bzroot-gui

label unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins, no GUI)

      kernel /bzimage

      append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode

    label Memtest86+

      kernel /memtest

  3. my hardware:

    CPU : I7 4930K with hyperthreading on

GPU1: MSI GTX 980 TI GAMING

    GPU2: MSI GTX 970 GAMING

2 HDD one for each VM.

    16GB Ram DDR3 (4X4X4X4)

    my first VM is running core 1 2 3 + core 7 8 9 (123 hyperthreaded) on the 980 ti (HDMI)

    my second VM is running 0 4 5  + 6 10 11 (same hyperthreaded core) on the 970 (VGA)

I don't know how to do the system diagnostics (if it's something related to unraid)

I only started using it two days ago.

edit: I found out how to do it and added it to my post

    thanks.

  4. thanks to JonP I was able to load the rom the custom vbios and it's working again.

however, stability issues are happening, if I run one VM it works perfectly, but everytime I run at least two of them they will often completly crash.

an example: If I run two VM and close/shutdown VM 1, VM 2 will instantly crash (not shutdown just like force stop)

or sometimes if I run a graphics application on one of the VM they will all instantly crash.

I never had this problem in 6.19, maybe it's a driver issue since I had to reinstall every graphics drivers after upgrading.

  5. Hi everyone I just upgraded from 6.19 to 6.20 and I've got an issue with XML file..

In 6.19 I use to edit the QEMU part of the XML file by adding ",romfile=/boot/vbios.rom" to load a custom rom. (for nvidia passtrough)

but now the syntax is so different I don't know where to load the romfile.

I have found this line "<hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes' xvga='yes'> but everytime I added romfile = '' after or before xvga it gets deleted when I apply XML changes.

I hope someone find a fix.

  6. Can you tell me how you managed to copy the rom file ? no matter what I do I don't have ssh permissions I can access it and disable passtrough but can't access the file.

this is what I tried last:

    /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:02:00.0# cat rom > /boot/vbios.rom

    cat: rom: Invalid argument

I don't know how to get permissions on rom file or why it works for other people./

  7. I am using a P9X79 (non pro) and I have no options to set primary display (maybe there's a custom bios to set it but so far I haven't found neither in the bios istself nor the manual of the card)

If someone knows a way it would fix all of my problems.

I know the system always boots on PCIEX16_1 (upper slot) and  I can't move the cheap card to the top because there isn't enough space between bottom ports for my cards to fit.

  8. Hello, i've been trying to run a VM but I have the problems with NVIDIA Cards and  PCI passtrough on primary display/graphics card.

I have no integrated graphics and people here pretty much told to buy a cheap pci card.

I got one but I can't set it to my primary display in BIOS so i'm trying to set it as primary display when I run unraid console.

I can't find a way or a config file to set it manually.
