  1. So for years now i have been using Eyefi and Keenai to automatically copy my photos off my phone to my server in folders by the date.

Unfortunately it looks like both are no longer going to be supported.

So I was looking for something new to use...I basically want it to move all photos off my phones to a folder named for the date it was taken.(for example 2018-09-04)

Again Eyefi and Keenai did this with no issue for years untill now I got a email telling me they are killing the service.

    Any suggestion would be helpful

    Thanks

  2. So I plan to install a 2tb HDD as an Unassigned Device and use it for OwnCloud.

This OwnCloud only purpose will be to backup my Photos off my Array of drive on the same server. (I have had a dead drive in my array and Lost half my photo even after the rebuild)

My question is how could i set up the OwnCloud as both the server and a client on the same system, or is there a better Docker?

Eventually I might add other drives to back up other devices.

    Thanks

    Matt

  3. I added UniFi for access points making me change the port of my SABnzbd to 18080. I have not made any other change but it seems anytime anything downloads now the whole system and all the dockers come to a crawl.

I have a SSD Cache drive that had kept the speeds good up till now. And i have not made any other changes.

    Any suggestions?

  4. 4gb on a VM for eyefi but kinda monitoring that and might drop that down to 2gb... but I am planning a gaming VM with a decent video card for Steam game streaming. As well as one for Video Encoding.

I am looking to upgrade to a total of 64GB just so I have the room to work with and don't have to worry if I wanted to add more VMs.

  5. so 2 weeks ago I had lost 3 1tb drives and had to rebuild all my Dockers and get everything back running. It is running stable again However I get these 2 error messages ever since.

Out Of Memory errors detected on your server

Your server has run out of memory, and processes (potentially required) are being killed off. You should post your diagnostics and ask for assistance on the unRaid forums

    and

Call Traces found on your server

Your server has issued one or more call traces. This could be caused by a Kernel Issue, Bad Memory, etc. You should post your diagnostics and ask for assistance on the unRaid forums

I have tested the memory with Memtest86+ and did not get any errors but not sure if there is more bad how to stop these errors.

    Here is my diagnostics zip

    Thanks for any help

  6. So I found a 120gb SSD if forgot i had, Set it up as Cache.

The videos were still kinda choppy while indexing the metadata but once that finished, it seems to be playing correctly...

And the metadata indexing completed much faster than it has in the past.

Now just have to reconfigure all my other dockers and the Win7 VM for our eyefi card

    Thanks for your help

  7. Will do, thanks for the feedback...it was just racking my brain because I went from an older Athlon II x4 to a dual Opteron (32cores) setup.

The Athlon II x4 system worked but was getting older and having stability issues with ram and system crashes.

This has a 10gb SFP+ NIC going to a switch with 2port 10gb uplink and 48port 1gbe...so overall bandwidth should never be an issue.

It could be the cache drive, but I didn't want to leave a drive in the system that could possibly fail at any time...but i worked before the cache drive too...

letting plex rebuild its metadata index and then ill test some of the movies I have had issues with.

And now looking at the transcoding location it was the same disk as all the media, so moving that to disk4 might solve the issue.

I'll let you know if these changes solved the issue.

P.S. I just realized, I might have a hybrid 500gb hard drive somewhere could use as my cache. I might try to find the laptop i have that in.

  8. 1 of the 3 1tb was not giving errors or warnings, however is was just as old(7 to 8yrs) and was bought at the same time and that was the cash drive.

So since the other 1tb drives were giving errors. I figured i would play it safe and remove it (plex worked before I added that drive too). When I have extra cash again I plan to get a new 7200RPM 1TB or 2TB drive to replace it.

From what I can tell its set to the default settings.

Yes I am useing Plex to Transcode. (it was crashing with just 1 device tying to transcode and watch)

When I went to to remove the appdata it was all on disk 1.

With all the indexing plex does with the metadata I was thinking about moving it to disk 4 the 2tb so it did not interfere with videos it is trying to play.

  9. So, i started to get warning and errors on my 3 1tb drives, one was cashe drive, the other 2 were just part of the array.

I removed them and resetup the array with just the 4 much newer 5tb drives and 1 2tb.

I am now getting all sorts of performance issues. Plex is freezing all the time, loading the pages just take extra long to load.

I am thinking about starting everything fresh but i want to keep my current array so i dont loose data or the parity.

Is there a way to do this? Or any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    Matt

  10. It is mainly for Plex and all related downloaders, Plex DVR as well.

Photo server for family photos, owncloud server, Teamspeak3 server, and probably more later.

But I do plan a VM for my eyefi photo transfer software.(uses the eyefi software to sort the files off the card year-mo-day format over wifi)

And probably a 6-8core light-medium game streaming server, most taxing game I have atm is ff14 and on my fx-8320 i can run several instance at once with a R9-280. I only plan to stream other games from my steam library, and if i get 30fps I'm happy.

For now it will have the flexibility for adding more. Although a Mac OSX VM sandbox would be nice to get use to it.(I am Tier II Consumer IT Phone support....I know windows like the back of my hand MAC very little....I can navigate Linux as a user)

My issue in the past has been loosing data and almost loosing out photo drive due to hard drive ntfs corruption. Thankfully i was able to repair it.

So I jumped when I could get the server grade stuff, and when the price drops I can upgrade the CPU's to 6300 series if they have and significant increase in performance.

ATM I have my server spread between 3 computers, this goal is to condense into one and 230w is less than I am currently consuming in my current setup.

    ---------------

Plans for the Sabertooth Motherboard is to make a 2nd unraid server for my daughters...kinda like the 2 gamers 1 PC but for school work, web browsing, and kid games and ABCMouse.com.

Again plans kinda morphed once I found the supermicro mobo.

  11. So my build took a turn when I was just looking around for fun.

My Original build was going to be:

-ASUS Sabertooth 990fx Motherboard -Free hand me down

    -AMD FX-8350 cpu - $160

    -32GB ECC unregistered RAM - $300-$320

Well I was thinking what could I get, and here is what I got...

    -Supermicro H8DGI-F Dual Opteron G34 Motherboard -$215

    -2x AMD Opteron 6276 16 Cores 2.30GHZ Processor -$23.49 each so about $50

    -64gb (8x8GB) Hynix PC3L-10600R DDR3-1333MHz ECC Registered $100

still have room for another 64gb

$365 for 32 core server grade components vs $460 for 8 cores and consumer grade components

So was the switch worth saving the $100

    Let me know you opinion!

    Matt
